Rescue operations continue in Nepal after last Wednesday's devastating flash floods.

At least 810 people are thought to have died in the country and neighboring Tibet.

And that number is expected to rise.

More than 3,000 people are still missing in the border region.

And people are in that need of support.

WHO has been trying to assess the needs and respond to the government of Nepal, with whatever best we can at this moment.

We have been supporting with our IEHK kids, we've been supporting with chains,

we're supporting with other supplies as required and there are other supplies that are coming from Kathmandu to this place.

I'm currently at the humanitarian staging area in Kathmandu where we are preparing to hand over essential medicine supplies including masks,

gloves, hand and sanitizers and dead body bags to the government of Nepal.

These items are being handed over based on the urgent needs identified during the WHO pill assessment

and as per the request from the health workers and health officials from the flood affected areas.

WHO remains ready to provide additional support as and when required by the government of Nepal.
