صيغة التفضيل

تختار صيغة التفضيل الأعلى (أو الأدنى) في مجموعة من ثلاثة أو أكثر. الصفات القصيرة: the + -est؛ والصفات الطويلة: the most + صفة. وقواعد الإملاء هي نفسها قواعد صيغة المقارنة (انظر درس «صيغة المقارنة»).

• Fansipan is the highest mountain in Vietnam.

  فانسيبان أعلى جبل في فيتنام.

• This is the most expensive restaurant on this street.

  هذا أغلى مطعم في هذا الشارع.

💡تذكّر the: the tallest، the best — كثيرًا ما ينساها المتعلمون. وكما في صيغة المقارنة، اختر واحدة: -est أو most، لا الاثنتين (وليس the most tallest).

1. الأعلى في مجموعة (ثلاثة أو أكثر)

• Sunday is the busiest day of the week at our café.

  الأحد هو أكثر أيام الأسبوع ازدحامًا في مقهانا.

• Who's the youngest in your family?

  مَن الأصغر في عائلتك؟

2. الأدنى: the least + صفة

• Walking is the least expensive way to get around.

  المشي هو الطريقة الأقل تكلفة للتنقل.

3. واحد من الأفضل: one of the + صيغة التفضيل + اسم جمع

• Hoi An is one of the most beautiful towns in Vietnam.

  هوي آن واحدة من أجمل المدن في فيتنام.

• She's one of the best students in the class.

  هي واحدة من أفضل الطلاب في الصف.

4. الثاني، الثالث…: the second / the third + صيغة التفضيل

• Who got the second highest score in the class?

  مَن حصل على ثاني أعلى درجة في الصف؟

5. مع ضمير الملكية تُحذف the: my, your, Minh's… + صيغة التفضيل

• Nga is my oldest friend.

  نغا أقدم صديقاتي.

• This is Minh's best score so far.

  هذه أفضل نتيجة حققها مين حتى الآن.

عندما يكون هناك اثنان فقط، تستخدم الكتابة المتأنية the + صيغة المقارنة + of the two (the taller of the two)؛ وفي الكلام لا يزال كثيرون يستخدمون صيغة التفضيل. و Oldest تصلح لكل شيء؛ أما eldest فللأشخاص في العائلة فقط (my eldest son)، و oldest تصلح هناك أيضًا.

• This hotel is cheaper than that one, but the hostel is the cheapest.

  هذا الفندق أرخص من ذاك، لكن النُّزُل هو الأرخص.

• My eldest brother lives in Da Nang.

  أخي الأكبر يعيش في دا نانغ.

كثيرًا ما تأتي بعد صيغة التفضيل كلمات تبيّن “الأعلى في ماذا”: in + مكان أو مجموعة، of + عدد أو فترة زمنية، أو جملة فيها ever (المضارع التام). وللتفاصيل انظر درس «صيغة التفضيل + ever / in / of».

• Minh is the tallest boy in the class.

  مين هو أطول ولد في الصف.

• This is the cheapest of the three phones.

  هذا أرخص الهواتف الثلاثة.

• That's the funniest joke I've ever heard.

  هذه أطرف نكتة سمعتها في حياتي.

• ✗He is the most tallest boy in the class.

  ✓He is the tallest boy in the class.

  فيها -est بالفعل، فلا داعي لـ most.

• ✗Minh is best player on our team.

  ✓Minh is the best player on our team.

  صيغة التفضيل تحتاج إلى the.

• ✗This is the more beautiful beach I've ever seen.

  ✓This is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen.

  صيغة التفضيل → most، لا more.

• ✗Da Nang is one of the cleanest city in Vietnam.

  ✓Da Nang is one of the cleanest cities in Vietnam.

  بعد one of the استخدم اسم جمع.

• ✗This is the most cheap hotel in the area.

  ✓This is the cheapest hotel in the area.

  الصفات القصيرة تأخذ -est.

• ✗Nam is the taller boy in our class.

  ✓Nam is the tallest boy in our class.

  في الصف أكثر من شخصين → صيغة التفضيل.
