I mean, it's a matter of people organizing and overthrowing the government.

We shunned the news.

We shunned anything to do with the overground.

We had our own press.

We could put on our own concerts.

We had our own sound system.

We had our own radio shows.

You know, we believed in self -determination.

That if you wanted to do something, you had to do it yourself.

You had to make it happen.

And conversely, we weren't interested.

We didn't...

We rode off the square.

We just fell off the square.

They didn't have a chance to understand what we were talking about.

Maybe their kids would.

I don't think that they even know what a revolution is.

What do they know?

The closest thing they know to a revolution is buying something with Chez Bavaria's face on it.

To wear around their head or something.

That's as close as they get, man.

You got the world's greatest living revolutionary, 90 Minutes for America, Fidel Castro, and they're just trying to throw him out.

And have been for 50 years.

But he had a revolution.

It's not easy to unseat him because he organized the people to support his ideas and they won.

They drove the bad guys out and they fought the U .S.

to a standstill and that was quite difficult.

So what advice do you have to people in their 20s in America?

Do what you want.

And what about the revolution?

Well, if you want to have a revolution, have a revolution.

You gotta decide what you want to have, what kind of world you want to live in, and then try and make it happen.

Even if you don't win, you have a ball trying to do it.

We had a ball.

Day in and day out.

Except for the police, we had a ball.

Trying to demonstrate to our lives that there was a different way

that you could live and you didn't have to be like that.

It was wonderful.

I don't know why they gave up, but I didn't.

I'm still the state.

Well, I don't know, you win by fighting.

You win by resisting.

You know, you won by not going on with the program.

I did.
