Pratica di Shadowing: GRWM for a college night out 💋 - Impara a parlare inglese con i video

Creazione lezione...
1
Hi guys, it's Syd and welcome back.
2
I am going out tonight.
3
Do I have a drink?
4
This feels better.
5
So first things first, yes, I am sunburned.
6
The thing about college is sometimes I feel like the getting ready to go out is more fun than the function itself.
7
And maybe that's just sad.
8
I was just getting ready the other day and I was like, why don't I actually like film me getting ready?
9
Because it's sometimes really fun.
10
I usually kind of start on my own
11
and then my roommates usually join me and then I'm going to actually vlog when I'm out tonight.
12
So it's going to be a whole experience.
13
I have my makeup bag right here and here we go.
14
Also, as I'm getting ready, I'm going to talk about college stuff.
15
I feel like I really could have used kind of like
16
that bigger sister college figure when I was entering college
17
And maybe I can be
18
that for some of you guys who are starting college I went on my instagram story
19
and I asked you guys to ask me any college questions that you have first question What are the parties like?
20
I think it really depends on what school you go to I go to chapman, which is a smaller private school
21
And obviously that's going to look a lot different than
22
if I were to go to a big state school like usc At my school the small school.
23
I like it a lot better because
24
when I go out I really like I feel like I
25
know everyone Versus at a big school where they have like a frat row
26
and stuff It's just a lot bigger of a party scene.
27
I just get overwhelmed easily And I remember when I went to usc a couple times, which is a big big school I felt like easily lost in the sauce Also,
28
there's like such a big difference between like frat parties
29
and like going to the bars I think freshman
30
and sophomore year is like when a lot of people will go to frat parties The second you turn 21, I just feel like that's the last place you want to go.
31
I would much rather go to a bar and like not be at a frat party where it's like everyone's sweaty, shoved next to each other.
32
Is college better or worse than high school?
33
This is such a good question because this is something I asked everyone when I was going to start college.
34
For me, high school was really tough.
35
I just kind of like put a lot of pressure on myself in high school to do the best academically.
36
I also went to a high school that was honestly kind of academically competitive.
37
Once you're accepted to college, there's almost like an alleviation of pressure a bit with the whole like college search, trying to get accepted to all of your top schools.
38
Again, this is just my personal experience.
39
I've also found it to be like easier in terms of like the academic workload.
40
When you're in high school, you have class from like 8am to 3pm every day.
41
But in college, you might have a schedule where you don't even have class like Tuesdays
42
and Thursdays You just really have so much more flexibility to make your own schedule and if you manage your time Well, I think academically it can be easier just because you have
43
so much more time to get everything done How do you make new friends at college?
44
Luckily, I would say college is one of the easiest places to make friends
45
because you're just surrounded by so many People that are your age
46
if you're in the dorms and you meet your neighbors You can become friends with them in class.
47
You're gonna have tons of people your age
48
if you are struggling I do think joining some sort of activity at school whether it's like a sport
49
or a club I'm in a sorority dg and that helped me so much to get plugged in at school So yeah, I will say that the opportunities are there
50
But you do need to take advantage of it at the same time how to stay fit
51
and not gain the freshman 15 Well, my experience with
52
that I feel like is very different kind of like went
53
on the opposite end unfortunately just make sure you're prioritizing your health
54
because i think that's like the main reason why people lose
55
or gain a lot of weight their first year the stress of just a new environment
56
so many new responsibilities
57
and things going on you can kind of just like neglect
58
your health how hard is it to manage stress the stress
59
really comes with how much you take on especially depending on your major
60
and what you're studying i was really stressed out
61
when i was saying yes to way too many things
62
that i shouldn't have been and then once i learned to like say no to some things it got better.
63
Advice on frat boys.
64
Oh no. This question is hard to see, truly.
65
My past experience with them, it has been anything but good.
66
I think that frat boys at the end of the day are in frats for a reason.
67
And the reason is not to get a girlfriend usually.
68
Usually just trying to have fun.
69
Just know that before you go into any sort of situation with a frat boy.
70
Tips to find roommates as a transfer.
71
What's actually so funny is my roommates and I actually found each other on Facebook.
72
I know that's like the most random place to find roommates.
73
We went on this Facebook housing site for Chapman.
74
It just worked out.
75
We both like wanted the same things.
76
And then we got a house together.
77
Facebook gave me two of like some of my best friends ever.
78
Why did you join a sorority?
79
I really joined for the social.
80
My college life before joining the sorority and after was completely different.
81
I just became so much more involved in everything.
82
And I met so many people.
83
And what's kind of interesting is I was on the fence because I never considered myself as someone to join a sorority.
84
But my friends were like, you know what, Sid?
85
You should just try it because you can meet some amazing people.
86
And I'm so glad that I did because I've made so many of my memories and met friends through it.
87
Do you get judged at school for having a YouTube channel?
88
Honestly, not really.
89
I feel like people here just don't care as much.
90
In high school, being in a small town, people were so much more judgmental.
91
I would say that's just like a big theme, honestly.
92
In college, I feel like people just care a lot less about petty things, about like popularity.
93
There's like really no such thing as like the popular people I just remember in high school.
94
There was like that group.
95
That was the cool group in college like no one cares because It's not that deep.
96
It really isn't advice on how to boost your resume I would say talk to your professors
97
because I think that sometimes we forget
98
that they have like actually a lot of connections
99
And they can also help you with internships
100
if you're trying to get an internship to add
101
Or they can even like reference you to someone I think my roommates are gonna come in
102
and we're gonna change into some cute fits Oh wait, yeah, we should do that.
103
Oh, okay.
104
We usually like to like do our part of getting ready together because it's fun that way.
105
Cheers.
106
We've been planning this for a while actually.
107
Yes.
108
We're going to wear like rafferty's that have sassy things on them.
109
It's kind of pick me energy, but we don't mean it to me.
110
It's not kind of it is.
111
But it's not our intent.
112
But like at the end of the day, it's not pick me energy if you are picked.
113
Anyways, we just think it'd be funny.
114
We're seniors.
115
I don't care what people think of me.
116
I'm out of here in two months.
117
When you get old, like, things change.
118
Yeah, things get boring.
119
Old at 22.
120
Okay, so I'm going to be wearing the Do Not Disturb shirt.
121
It feels like people will disturb me, though.
122
Yeah, and I will be wearing I Love My Attitude Problem.
123
It's a classic.
124
I'm gonna wear the I Heart to Make Boys Cry.
125
It's fitting.
126
She loves making boys cry.
127
Okay, guys, we are ready.
128
It is sassy, but I feel like we already are sassy, so it works.
129
Tonight is all about becoming a character and having tonight be a movie.
130
Category?
131
Horror.
132
TBD.
133
Oh.
134
Romance.
135
And let's hope to God it's not romance.
136
So we have our glitter in.
137
Ooh.
138
Oh, that's so bad.
139
Are you sure this is edible?
140
Yeah.
141
What if I drink it and like I start like coughing up glitter?
142
Then we know that you're having a good time.
143
Cheers! That was so good.
144
So we're on our way.
145
Stay on the way.
146
We are the backseat.
147
So we are at the district.
148
So soon we...
149
Wow, okay Sabrina Carpenter.
150
Oh my
151
god Vikings wait Lakers oh my god that was Lakers not like and he's really, he's really looking.
152
He just stared at you.
153
It's like, it's 12 right now, and we're getting Starbucks, because I feel like that's what you have to do after a night out.
154
It's like revival.
155
People need to like understand, like the way that a pink drink revives you after a night out.
156
I was getting a strawberry outside after this.
157
Also you debrief.
158
Always crucial. So f*!
159
Oh!
160
Shout out!
161
What is he doing?
162
He seems like me, why is he wearing his name outfit?
163
Hi!
164
Thank you so much.
165
You know that guy that brought you to the date party or whatever it's called?
166
Remember that time me and my friends saw him?
167
And I was like, oh he's kinda cute.
168
And she was like, yeah, his name is .
169
I was like, I don't know that name.
170
Oh my god, I literally feel like my life has been put back into my body.
171
They put their whole shirt tuts to him.
