Shadowing Practice: choose a nice “box” for yourself - Learn English Speaking with Video

Creating lesson...
1
Hi everyone!
2
So for the past few days I've been thinking about the topic for my next video, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't come up with anything.
3
All the messages I wanted to share were so fragmented and like disconnected from each other.
4
At least that's how it seemed to me and I started feeling
5
so frustrated because I have unconsciously set this rule for myself that
6
my videos have to revolve around certain topics and
7
that I need to make them as well organized and well structured as possible before I can post them.
8
But then I realized this is ridiculous.
9
I don't know why or since when I have set such a limiting rule for myself.
10
I thought that I've removed most of limiting beliefs from my mind but it seems like some of them are still here.
11
Why do I think that my videos are only good when they follow certain requirements?
12
Isn't it supposed to be a creative, authentic and liberating experience for me?
13
And then I started thinking about how we often have these hidden rules in our lives
14
and we are completely unaware of them.
15
So we let them have the right to control our lives.
16
You might have been unconsciously following these rules as well.
17
In order for you to get what you want, you need to follow certain paths, you need to do certain things, you need to act in certain ways.
18
You might have said these things to yourself.
19
The only way for me to find a partner is being on online dating apps or going to public events, crowded places.
20
The only way for me to get rich is to start this business, to follow this career path,
21
to learn this skill that everybody is learning to invest in this field that everybody is also pouring money into.
22
The only way for me to produce content that will attract people is to make it perfect and professional, to look formal and put together in each video
23
and my script has to be carefully written and edited before it is spoken out loud.
24
Of course these are possibilities but notice how they are just possibilities
25
but you are treating them as rules and
26
when you consider something as a rule it will become your reality i used to have
27
so many limiting beliefs as well okay let's talk about making videos again
28
so in the past i i used to set a rule for myself
29
that my videos had to have good lighting
30
which means i could only film them during daytime i thought to myself
31
that if i filmed videos at night the lighting would be really bad
32
and nobody would want to watch a video with bad lighting i also thought
33
that before making videos i needed to put on makeup
34
and you know like choose the best outfit
35
because people would not notice someone who looks too casual
36
or like sloppy in videos and
37
so i followed these rules for a really long time you
38
can still see them i mean like my old videos here on youtube
39
and my tiktok account as well i used to look a certain way and film videos at a certain time.
40
I also want to mention that I was not really comfortable with this style of video making.
41
I don't like bright light, whether artificial light or sunlight.
42
But whenever I wanted to make a video, I needed to open the curtains in my room, you know.
43
And since I often filmed videos in the mid-afternoon, the sunlight at that time was really glaring and unpleasant to my eyes.
44
You You know, also some days I just, I didn't want to put on any makeup or like dressing up at all.
45
But I still forced myself to do these things because like these rules, they had a really strong hold over me.
46
But then there was a period of time in 2025.
47
I think it was in August.
48
There was an apartment upstairs in my building and it was restructured or renovated or something.
49
I don't know, but they did lots of noisy things during the day, you know, all the drilling and stuff.
50
So it was basically impossible for me to film videos during daytime.
51
And I was forced into making videos at nighttime, which is an amazing change.
52
But in the beginning, it was really uncomfortable
53
because I was like pushed out of my comfort zone even
54
when that comfort zone was not serving me or making me feel really happy.
55
Now looking back at it I know that it was like divine intervention
56
and the universe was trying to help me get out of a situation
57
that was not benefiting me anymore and I'm so grateful.
58
Since I started making videos at night time I felt so much more comfortable and authentic
59
whenever I look at myself in my videos now I feel
60
like it's the real me you know like just sitting comfortably
61
in the dark with some dim light sometimes in nice clothes
62
sometimes in my pajamas sometimes with light makeup sometimes with no
63
makeup at all I'm not saying I will never make videos during daytime anymore
64
but night times darkness and quietness calm my nervous system somehow.
65
So the process of making videos has also become so much more enjoyable to me.
66
You don't have to try too hard anymore and
67
so many people including my old viewers and my new viewers are supporting me regardless of these changes and I'm very thankful.
68
In the end I realized that these rules were just mental and imaginary.
69
They were not factual.
70
They were just a few possibilities out of millions of possibilities.
71
There are no fixed ways for things to unfold.
72
But if you cling to certain possibilities, they will control your reality.
73
That does not mean you don't need to take any action
74
or like you don't need to know which direction you should follow in your life or like what you should do next.
75
You know, you still need to take some action
76
because we're living in a physical world
77
and action in some type of planning is still one of the sturdiest bridges
78
that can connect you to your desired reality however one thing
79
that is even more important is your confidence your conviction your delusional belief
80
that no matter
81
which decision you make no matter where you are no matter
82
who you choose to be no matter what you do no matter
83
which direction you follow you will always be led to where to the manifestation of your desired reality
84
The process can be unpredictable But the final outcome has been decided
85
By you And nothing can change it All paths will lead to your desired reality How do you feel when hearing that?
86
Isn't it so liberating?
87
Now you're not confined to any limitations anymore Your heart
88
and your mind are both open to all possibilities You are freed from self-imposed rules
89
you'll move with so much more confidence and certainty.
90
You'll smile and rest assured that your desired reality is within your grasp.
91
Even when you fail at something, even when it seems like everything is going against you.
92
And instead of visualizing yourself hitting your goal and achieving your dream under certain conditions,
93
you'll start believing in new possibilities that go beyond all of your previous imagination.
94
If you want to attract a partner, instead of thinking that you'll have to go to certain places and you'll have to do certain things,
95
you'll start familiarizing yourself with new possibilities that used to be impossible to you.
96
Like you can literally meet them in the elevator, in the grocery store near your house.
97
You can meet them while taking a walk
98
or you can literally open your door and they're right there in front of your eyes.
99
Or like maybe you don't have to do anything, you know, you don't have to make any effort.
100
they'll just come and find you they'll have to find you no matter what
101
or if you want to have a financially abundant life don't think
102
that you'll have to sacrifice your health for it don't think
103
that you'll have to work like 80 hours per week a lot of people hold on to the belief
104
that money is evil and money will take away their health
105
and their relationships then
106
that will be their reality you can choose a different path
107
by changing your belief about money yes probably you'll still have to work hard, that's one possibility.
108
But how about visualizing something more creative?
109
More original?
110
More eccentric?
111
Have fun with it how about visualizing yourself making money
112
while sleeping how about visualizing yourself making money
113
while traveling trying out new food visiting new places how about
114
visualizing yourself receiving this financial abundance from a mysterious mystical source how about getting paid for just existing how about
115
that aren't these scenarios also possibilities just the same way as working 80 hours
116
or 90 hours per week is also a possibility possibilities are equal and they can all materialize
117
no possibility is superior or inferior to another no possibility has a higher
118
or lower chance of materializing you are the one who decides by aligning yourself mentally emotionally and physically to certain possibilities.
119
Whether you think it's difficult or easy, you're always right.
120
Remember this.
121
The rules that you set for yourself will only apply to you, not to other people, only to you.
122
So choose them wisely because they can either push you further
123
and further away from your desired reality or pull you closer and closer to it.
124
Positive thinking is also a set of rules, but these rules are benefiting you.
125
That's the difference.
126
Thinking that everything is always working out in your favor is also a kind of limiting belief.
127
But instead of limiting positive outcomes, it limits negative outcomes.
128
You know, whether you think positively or negatively, you're both living in a box.
129
But which box do you choose?
130
A box of peace, calm and happiness, or a box of fear, anxiety and stress?
131
Pick a choice by visualizing scenarios
132
that you used to deem as impossible i'm not saying
133
that you need to be attached to them
134
or like you know once again fall into the loop of
135
forcing things into place that's not the point the point here
136
is to familiarize yourself with new possibilities to expand your mind and to make positive thinking your default mode
137
so that when things don't go your way instead of overthinking
138
and like you know being consumed by anxiety
139
and fear you'll be like okay that's fine it didn't work out
140
because it's not the best for me one thing i've learned is
141
that the best way to be emotionally detached from certain outcomes
142
and especially from people is to not treat them as a final destination
143
or as a means for you to experience certain emotions
144
but a mirror for you to look back at yourself
145
and discover hidden parts inside you that you've never touched
146
or you know even known before for example when you meet someone new
147
and they make you feel some type of way ask yourself what is it in this person
148
that makes you feel that way do they bring you something that you haven't been able to bring to yourself
149
why are you so attracted to this person when they don't give you the best treatment
150
Is it because they remind you of a past wound that feels so familiar that even when you are hurt, you still want to continue getting hurt?
151
Does this person trigger a wounded part inside you that needs healing?
152
When you keep the goal to observe and understand yourself in mind, you won't think and react emotionally anymore.
153
You will think more rationally and you will make more sensible decisions.
154
and in many cases this will benefit you in the long run and this applies to certain outcomes also
155
like ask yourself why you want to have lots of money
156
why you want to be in a relationship why you want
157
to move to a certain place why you want to do a certain job is it
158
because you really want that desired reality or is it just
159
because you want to experience some emotions and how you can
160
and bridge the gap between you and that desired reality by integrating these emotions into your present life right now.
161
These are the questions that you need to ask yourself
162
and investigate then you won't be obsessed with anyone
163
or any outcome anymore because you realize
164
that you are the center of your own world
165
and everything you do the way you think the way you feel the person you are becomes the driving force
166
that shapes your life that will bring you so much more power and strength and freedom.
167
You need to live with this immeasurable confidence that everything is always working out in your favor.
168
Out of hundreds of thousands of possibilities, you need to choose the most exciting, the most wholesome, the most positive ones to believe in.
169
Because why not?
170
Please think about it.
171
You have the ability to choose what you want to believe in.
172
And you are telling me that you choose to believe in negative things?
173
You choose to believe that there are limited ways for you to actualize your dreams?
174
No!
175
Get out of that fear-based, poverty-limiting mindset!
176
There are limitless possibilities available to you.
177
If this does not work out, another door will open, another chance will come, another person will arrive, another path will reveal itself.
178
There is absolutely no need to worry about anything.
179
when you believe that you are the universe's favorite you're literally divinely protected
180
and guided at all times if someone goes to you
181
or like leaves you or if you are facing some failure it's
182
because you are being protected from something terrible
183
that you could never imagine you are being protected okay
184
if you're feeling sad right now you can spend as much time as you You might want to experience sadness,
185
but hey, you might want to celebrate in advance as well
186
because something amazing is about to happen very soon to make up for you.
187
There's balance in this universe.
188
If something really bad happened, something really good is about to happen in the future.
189
When something unpleasant and unfavorable happens, don't sweat over it.
190
Let things happen.
191
Don't hold any resistance.
192
Just flow with life.
193
This is probably one of the necessary changes for you to reach your desired reality.
194
You know, because sometimes in order for you to have a new life, your old one has to be completely destroyed.
195
I know that it can be painful and shocking sometimes But what did I say before?
196
Everything is always working out for your highest good in the
197
end It can be a bit hard to accept how much change you need to go through
198
But a few months from now, a few years from now You will look back at this and you will be like I understand it now
199
I understand why I had to fail I understand why things didn't work out between me and that person
200
I understand why I had to undergo such a chaotic phase in my life.
201
Now all the dots are connecting and I can finally see a beautiful complete picture.
202
I just want to make this video to tell you
203
that life is a series of opportunities for you to discover your potential and expand your mind, your consciousness.
204
And if you take these opportunities seriously, you will be able to break free from all the limitations and rules that society has imposed on you.
205
and create a heaven on earth for yourself, a life of eternal peace.
206
So don't let any limiting or negative belief mess with you and prevent you from materializing your desired reality.
207
Once you deal with your inner limitations and solve the inner turmoil that is fogging your vision,
208
you will see things so much more clearly and everything will feel so much lighter.
209
And that's everything for today's video it's a bit messy
210
but the more I talk the clearer my mind becomes and it's such a big relief.
211
I also hope that you received the messages that you need to hear today.
212
Thank you so much for watching, I'll see you again soon.
213
Bye!

About This Lesson

You're practicing English with "choose a nice “box” for yourself" using the Shadowing technique — a method originally developed for professional interpreter training.

Focus on sounding like the speaker — not just repeating words. With 15–30 minutes of daily practice, you'll build real-world speaking confidence.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
