1
I was introduced to this next band by my friends here in Australia and I just felt it was like really kindred.
2
It's just offensive black humor to the point that it's obviously hilarious but it's also very pointed.
3
and I'd heard a story about, you know, this guy named River Phoenix,
4
who was a promising young actor, handsome, and by all accounts, talented in his performances and was well -received and,
5
you know, had a whole future, and he was doing drugs like some people do, and he was doing a lot of them,
6
and he literally walked past all of his friends
7
and died in front of this bar in Los Angeles while his friends were sitting,
8
sort of partying with people.
9
And his friends at that table happened to be the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they were about ready to tour Australia.
10
And this group of young men
11
that we're going to play put out a song called There'll Never Be an Old Man River.
12
And they were actually sued by Flea because he was so insulted,
13
but Flea was actually supposedly sitting right at a table with Anthony Kiedis and whoever the other guy is.
14
while River just walked right straight out to the paper machine and died choking on his own vomit or whatever.
15
But I love this band, Tism.
16
Unfortunately, they've hung up their canon and passed it on to the future generations.
17
I hope you enjoy it.
18
It's Tism.
