Oh hey!
2
I'm Arianita Lagringa and welcome back to my YouTube channel.
3
And you might be wondering,
4
Arianita, why are you sitting on your bed?
5
Well, in today's video I will teach all of you household chores in English.
6
And household chores are everyday tasks we do around the house.
7
And I'm first going to start with my bedroom.
8
I want to change my sheets and then I will move to different rooms around my apartment.
9
Well, let's start cleaning the house because I want to begin the year with a fresh start.
10
This is my bed and I am in my bedroom.
11
Bedroom.
12
So the first thing I'm going to do to clean my room is change my bed sheets
13
because these are my bed sheets and they may look very clean
14
but if you look closely there may be a lot of dirt or hair because I live with two pets.
15
I live with my puppy and a kitten and it gets pretty dirty
16
so I like to clean my bedsheets at least once a week
17
because I have pets and I like to start my week with fresh sheets.
18
First, I'm going to start off with the pillowcases.
19
So I'm going to change the pillowcases.
20
Now, I'm going to change the top sheet and the fitted sheet.
21
Now, all you can see is my mattress.
22
This is my mattress and I'm going to take my sheets and my pillowcases downstairs and do some laundry.
23
In this cabinet, I have another set of clean and fresh bed sheets.
24
So while I'm washing my white bed sheets that are dirty,
25
I can put a fresh and clean set on my bed.
26
Now it's time to make the bed.
27
Let's make the bed.
28
I just made my bed.
29
I arranged my bed and it looks clean and tidy and it smells great.
30
Let me know down below when you guys change your bed sheets.
31
And do you guys make your bed every morning?
32
Let me know.
33
to teach you another household chore in another room.
34
Let's go!
35
Now I'm in my living room and I've got to be honest with you guys,
36
it's a mess.
37
There is clutter on the ground and now I'm going to clean up or remove the clutter in this space.
38
So I have a bunch of dog toys and cat toys on the ground,
39
so I'm going to pick up these items and put them in a bin.
40
And since I have two pets,
41
I know they always run around so they made a mess
42
and I'm going to arrange these pillows and put them back on my couch.
43
Now I'm going to put my slippers away in the closet.
44
These are dog and cat toys.
45
These are not toys for little kids
46
and as you can see my kitten is interested in playing with these toys
47
but because I want to tidy up my living room I'm going to put these toys in this bin.
48
Excuse me, Rao.
49
Thank you.
50
I'm going to put these toys in the bin.
51
And now my living room looks very clean and tidy and there is not a mess on the floor.
52
Now can you tell me what this is called?
53
It's a long stick and there are bristles on the bottom of the stick.
54
This is called a broom.
55
Broom.
56
And you use the broom to sweep the floor.
57
I am sweeping the floor.
58
So I like to sweep the floor every single day because I live with two animals.
59
There's a lot of hair on the floor and when I'm cooking in the kitchen there might be crumbs on the floor.
60
I sweep up the dust or debris with the dust pan.
61
This is a dust pan.
62
I just swept up a small area right here,
63
but now it's time to complete my household chore and sweep my whole apartment.
64
I just finished sweeping up my whole apartment.
65
I swept the living room area,
66
the kitchen, and my bedroom and bathroom.
67
Before sweeping, it looked pretty clean,
68
but after sweeping everything up,
69
you can see how dirty it is.
70
You can see there's dust on the floor,
71
Christmas bristles, or needles because I still have my Christmas tree up.
72
Now I'm going to sweep up the dust again on the dust pan since I finished sweeping my whole apartment.
73
And now I'm going to throw this away in the trash can.
74
And it looks like my garbage can is full of trash.
75
And now I'm going to teach you the third chore,
76
taking out the trash.
77
This is a trash can or you can call it a garbage can
78
and it's pretty full so now I'm going to take out the trash.
79
This is the garbage bag and I have to tie this.
80
well it just broke but I have to tie this and I will take it outside.
81
I live in an apartment building
82
so there are a bunch of people living next to me so we throw our trash outside in these trash cans.
83
There we go I just threw the trash in the trash can
84
and now let's go back inside because it's pretty cold and I'll teach you the fourth household chore.
85
Before teaching you all the fourth household chore.
86
I have to put the clean trash bag in the trash can.
87
Now I am going to teach you the fourth household chore.
88
Can you all tell me how do I clean my living room rug?
89
Or if you don't have hardwood floors in your house,
90
how would you clean carpet?
91
do you sweep the carpet or the rug?
92
No, you would use this.
93
This is a vacuum cleaner,
94
vacuum cleaner, and it cleans carpet,
95
but it can also clean hardwood floors.
96
So I normally use this because I have to clean my rug in my living room
97
and it'll vacuum up all the dirt,
98
hair, and dust on the rug.
99
When I vacuum my rug in my living room,
100
I like to move things aside like this chair.
101
That way I have more space to vacuum.
102
Before vacuuming the rug in my living room,
103
I like to use this Pet Fresh odor eliminator because I do have two pets.
104
So I use this Pet Odor Eliminator so the rug doesn't smell bad.
105
And I have to make sure to pour it all over my rug.
106
Now that I put the Pet odor eliminator on my rug,
107
I can finally start vacuuming.
108
I will turn on the vacuum with this power button and it's really loud and now it's time to start vacuuming.
109
So I just vacuumed up all the dust
110
and the hair from my rug and all the dust
111
and hair particles are inside this vacuum cleaner and now I have to empty this in the trash can.
112
Now I'm going to empty this container in the trash can.
113
Now that this container is empty,
114
I'm going to attach it back to the vacuum cleaner,
115
hook it back up, and now it's time to put this back in the closet because I'm finished vacuuming my rug.
116
After vacuuming the rug, the next thing to do is to clean this glass table.
117
Well, to clean a glass table, you need two items.
118
You need glass cleaner, glass cleaner,
119
and you need a roll of paper towels, paper towels.
120
So before cleaning this glass table,
121
I have already moved the things that were on the table, like decorations.
122
Now it's time to clean the glass table.
123
I have to take off the cap from the glass cleaner
124
and I have to press down this nozzle and spray it on the table.
125
And then I will tear off one paper towel and then wipe down this table.
126
I just finished cleaning and wiping down this glass table and now I have to wipe down and clean the mirror.
127
This is a mirror and I clean the mirror with glass cleaner and a paper towel.
128
I am spraying the glass cleaner on the mirror and now it's time to wipe the spray on the mirror.
129
I am cleaning the mirror.
130
I just finished cleaning the mirror.
131
I wiped it from the top to the bottom and now it looks so clean.
132
There aren't any smudges and now I can take a picture.
133
I am taking this video seriously so I'm going to deep clean my apartment and another way to clean
134
something is to polish.
135
So I'm going to show you guys how to polish something like a TV stand.
136
To polish something makes it shiny.
137
Well, I'm going to use this rag.
138
I will spray this pledge,
139
this is pledge, and this will make my TV stand shinier.
140
I'm spraying this onto the rag.
141
When you polish something you make it shinier
142
so i'm going to lift this sound bar
143
and wipe down all the dust from my tv stand i am polishing my tv stand
144
and i am wiping away all the dirt all the dust
145
and fingerprints from the tv stand now it's time to dust the blinds i dust with a duster this is a duster.
146
Dust can be a noun or a verb.
147
Dust is a particle on a surface like a blind,
148
and the action is dusting.
149
I am dusting the blinds.
150
Now I'm going to dust other blinds because I have three windows.
151
The nice thing about a duster is that it can extend out
152
and you can dust hard to reach surfaces like a ceiling fan.
153
I am dusting the ceiling fan.
154
Time flies by so quickly that I forgot to feed my pets, my animals.
155
So for me, this is another household chore because I have to feed my pets three times a day.
156
Now it's time to feed my kitten Rao and as you can see,
157
he looks pretty hungry.
158
Now it's time to feed my puppy Ozuna.
159
Sit.
160
Good boy.
161
Feeding two animals for me is a household chore.
162
Let me know down below if you guys have pets and I want to know their names.
163
I am in my kitchen.
164
Kitchen.
165
So I swept the kitchen floor.
166
I took out the trash from the trash can.
167
And another household chore you can do in the kitchen is washing your dishes or you can clean your dishes.
168
This is a kitchen sink.
169
I have a bowl, a small plate,
170
and a cup in the sink.
171
And to clean the dishes,
172
I have to turn on the water from the faucet.
173
This is a faucet.
174
And I have to scrub the dishes with a sponge.
175
Sponge.
176
And I have to wash it with dish soap.
177
When you wash or clean the dishes,
178
that means you are doing the dishes.
179
So I have to scrub the dish,
180
rinse it with water, turn off the water,
181
and then I will place this on the dish rack to dry.
182
So this is where the plates will go to dry.
183
But if you guys haven't seen my kitchen vocabulary video at IKEA,
184
go ahead and check it out because then you would know what this is.
185
This is a dishwasher and instead of washing your dishes by hand,
186
you can just place the dishes on the rack.
187
This is a top rack and this is the bottom rack and just clean the dishes itself.
188
Another household chore is keeping your plants alive.
189
In my living room, I have a ton of different plants and to keep them alive,
190
you need to water them, water them.
191
And I'm going to water them with water that's in this vase.
192
I'm going to water each plant in my living room.
193
So the action of doing this is watering the plant.
194
I just watered this plant and now I will move to the next one.
195
I'm watering the plants.
196
I want to know how many plants do you have in your house?
197
This is a mop and you mop a hardwood floor or just a floor with a wet mop.
198
When you mop a floor you are cleaning the floor and always remember
199
to sweep the floor first and then you mop
200
because it wouldn't make any sense to mop a floor when there are crumbs on it,
201
when there's dust on it.
202
So first sweep the floor and then you mop it.
203
This is not a normal mop.
204
So the traditional mop, you will need a bucket full of water and a household cleaner to clean and mop your floors.
205
but I honestly like using this different type of mop
206
because you only need to put one wet cloth on the bottom of the mop
207
and I won't have to keep putting the mop in water.
208
When this wet cloth is dirty,
209
I can just take this wet cloth off of the Swiffer mop and then flip it over to the clean side
210
and continue cleaning and mopping my floor.
211
When you're mopping your floors,
212
make sure to not step on the wet part.
213
You want to make sure that that part dries and then you can move on to the next area.
214
So I swept the whole floor and then after I mopped it and as you can see it's pretty dirty.
215
I feel like this is an easier way to mop versus the traditional mop
216
because you have to really put your back into it and rinse the water from the mop.
217
So this is a great and easy way to just dispose this wet cloth.
218
Another household chore that I do at least once a week
219
or when my laundry basket is full of clothes is doing the laundry.
220
And doing the laundry is when you wash and dry your clothes.
221
In my apartment I do not have a laundry room but I do have a storage room downstairs
222
where I have to take my basket full of dirty clothes.
223
I'm going to walk downstairs to my storage unit where I have my washer
224
and my dryer and I'm going to put my laundry and load it up in in the washer.
225
I just got back from my laundry room and I have fresh and clean clothes.
226
So I washed my clothes in the washer
227
and I put them in the dryer to dry and now it's time to do another household chore to fold your clothes.
228
So I'm going to fold my clothes on the table.
229
This shirt is inside out.
230
And now it's time to fold this shirt.
231
I like to fold my clothes,
232
fold my laundry, because I want everything to be organized in my closet.
233
And with nice shirts like this one,
234
I like to iron it because this shirt looks a little wrinkly.
235
So let me get the ironing board and the iron to iron the wrinkles out of this shirt.
236
The last and final household chore is ironing.
237
I just finished folding my clothes,
238
but I have this shirt that is wrinkly.
239
This shirt has wrinkles on it,
240
but how do I remove the wrinkles from this shirt?
241
Well, I use this to remove the wrinkles from the shirt.
242
What is this called?
243
This is an iron iron.
244
I just plugged in the iron in the outlet and now it's time to iron this wrinkly shirt on the ironing board.
245
Ironing board.
246
I just finished ironing this shirt.
247
This white shirt is now wrinkle free.
248
There aren't any wrinkles on it and now it's time to unplug this iron,
249
fold this ironing board and put it back in my closet,
250
and let's go ahead and check out how spotless my apartment is.
251
Okay guys, I just finished cleaning my apartment.
252
My apartment is pretty small,
253
so it was pretty easy and quick to clean.
254
I cleaned the living room,
255
the kitchen, and the bedroom,
256
and doing household chores makes my life a little bit easier when I clean things every day.
257
So if you do household chores or everyday tasks around the house,
258
your house will be nice and clean.
259
