“was going to”
中級“Was going to”
was/were going to + 動詞 — 過去的打算,常常沒有實現
1.形式
Was / were going to + 動詞原形 就是把 going to 移到過去:表示當時打算做或預計會發生的事。
| I / he / she / it | you / we / they | |
|---|---|---|
I was going to call. | We were going to call. |
She wasn't going to say anything. | They weren't going to come. |
Was he going to stay? | Were you going to tell me? |
Yes, he was. / No, he wasn't. | Yes, we were. / No, they weren't. |
語速快時,going to 常常聽起來像 gonna:I was gonna call you。
I was going to cook tonight, but I got home too late.
We were going to have a picnic, but it poured all afternoon.
I wasn't going to buy anything, but the shoes were on sale.
Everyone knew the final was going to be close.
I thought the meeting was going to finish early, but it went on until seven.
I was just going to text you when you called!
Sorry, what were you going to say?
中文說“我本來要給你打電話,但忘了”,“要”字沒有時態變化,所以常有人說 “I am going to call you, but I forgot.” 如果計劃屬於過去(but I forgot),going to 也要變成過去:I was going to call you, but I forgot.
|---|---|
| I'm going to call her.
| I was going to call her.
| I called her.
| I was calling her when… | ……
| I would have called her, but…
| She said she would call. |
Was going to 強調已有的計劃或打算;said / promised 後面的 would 強調承諾或預測。 He said he was going to fix it. / He said he would fix it.
I was go to call you, but I forgot.I was going to call you, but I forgot.
