1
Our first guest is one of the biggest stars on the planet.
2
Please welcome my friend Beyonce.
3
Oh, Beyonce.
4
Yeah. Yeah, right?
5
Oh, and even though this is Tuesday today, right?
6
Yes. You must still be recovering from Sunday.
7
I am. Yeah.
8
I'm still not recovered, actually.
9
Yeha. I mean, that's-- you got to be tired.
10
You put so much energy into your performances every time I see you that you just give it your all.
11
I do. I do.
12
When I get home, I'm like-- Yeah.
13
--completely lazy.
14
I don't want to clean.
15
I don't want to do anything but try to recover.
16
It's my job to give 100%, and I feel like, you know, I've been allowed to do what I love for so long.
17
I love my job.
18
So the least I can do is give my all.
19
You know, you do the same thing.
20
Well, yeah.
21
But now, are you like me, where you want to relax, but then after just a short amount of time, you can't wait to do something again?
22
I don't know how to relax.
23
Yeah. I don't like to get a massage.
24
I don't like to-- Oh.
25
I don't-- Oh, I like to get a massage.
26
Yeah, I'm-- I'll go a little far.
27
The only time I can really relax is on a boat because then, I have no excuse.
28
I'm stuck, and I have to take care of myself and eat good food, and I don't-- I can't escape.
29
I did that for the first time this past summer.
30
Really? And I went along the Italian and French Riviera, and it was just amazing.
31
Did you like it?
32
I loved it, but I thought I was in the middle of nowhere and just swimming.
33
And the paparazzi got me there.
34
Was no one around, and they were photographing me.
35
I don't-- It's very scary.
36
They're like in dolphin suits or something.
37
They're-- I don't know where they came from.
38
That's the craziest thing.
39
My mom always-- I'll call her, and she's like, oh, I didn't like that outfit you had on yesterday.
40
I'm like, how do you know?
41
They tape everything.
42
Yeah. That's the only thing.
43
Yeah. Because you never know.
44
It's one thing when you're prepared.
45
But when you don't know, it's-- That's the thing.
46
I was looking around.
47
I thought for sure I was kind of-- but anyway, but that's-- so now you and-- speaking of that, congratulations.
48
You got married, and you did that without anybody Congratulations to you.
49
Thank you. Yeah, we were talking earlier.
50
It feels different to be married.
51
It really does, and it feels good, doesn't it?
52
It feels great.
53
And how long were you and Jay-Z together before you got married?
54
Oh gosh. Listen to me.
55
I'm about to start yapping.
56
Yeah. We've been together a long time.
57
It's been about seven years.
58
Wow. Yeah. Seven years.
59
But it does feel different, doesn't it?
60
It feels great.
61
I really love it.
62
So, seven years, and was it something that y'all talked about, or are you just all of a sudden decided, let's do it?
63
I mean, it's different for everyone.
64
I was really young.
65
I'm only 27.
66
So I was really young, and you know, I feel like it's important for women and men to have their goals and their own life before they can complete someone else.
67
So, you know, we took our time.
68
He must have been pushing on getting married to lock you up, though.
69
He must have been saying, come on.
70
I know you're young, but let's just do it.
71
He must have been, like, really pushing to, you know, come on.
72
I mean, not that he's not a great guy.
73
No, he's-- --you're both lucky.
74
But you know, he must have been, come on.
75
Let's do it.
76
He's a cool guy.
77
Yeah. He's cool.
78
He's patient.
79
He's a great guy.
80
He is. I really like him a lot.
81
And I got you a wedding gift.
82
I got you some towels.
83
Oh! And-- Just what I need!
84
Oh, this is hot.
85
Thank you. Yeah.
86
Oh man. I'll get you something.
87
Yeah. You know, it'll be nice for the boat to have-- Be great for a boat.
88
Yeah. Nice coffee maker for the boat.
89
All right, let's talk about the difference between Beyonce and Sasha Fierce.
90
There's-- and Sasha Fierce is-- she's on this CD.
91
Are you on the CD at all?
92
Because the CD is, I am Sasha Fierce, and it's someone different.
93
Yeah. Did you make that name up?
94
I did. Uh-huh?
95
Yes. It's actually-- it's two CDs.
96
It's a double disk.
97
Right. And half of it is really natural, and the songs are all love songs and really vulnerable and more closer to who I really am.
98
Mm-hm. And that's why it's named "I Am." And then the other half is Sasha Fierce, who was basically who you guys saw.
99
She is in that position back there.
100
She is. Yeah.
101
That's her.
102
That's who y'all saw singing "Single Ladies." Over there.
103
It's very different from who I who I really am, and I think people expect me to be more like Sasha Fierce when they meet me.
104
Mm-hm. So this is really more of an introduction to me, you know?
105
I know when I was speaking with you during the commercial, you really like "Flaws and All," and those type of songs I love to sing more than the up tempo.
106
So-- Really?
107
Yeah, I do.
108
So I was able to do what I really wanted to do but still give the fans what they want.
109
Yeah. Well, I like all your music, but she's going to sing a song really because I've asked her because she knows it's my favorite song, "Flaws and All." And she's going to sing it at the end of the show.
110
If you haven't heard this song, it is so, so beautiful.
111
But that's what I was saying is like you have so many different sides of you, you know, with those ballads and that kind of energy.
112
And so Sasha is something that you can turn on and off, or does she just show up sometimes when you're?
113
No, she says on stage.
114
I'm not asking you if you're crazy.
115
I'm asking-- No, because people are like, OK, I don't understand this Sasha Fierce thing.
116
It's for fun.
117
It's fun, and it gives me an excuse to blame anything really bad on Sasha Fierce.
118
I see. Yeah.
119
Yes. I see.
120
She's doing OK.
121
She's doing all right right now.
122
Yeah. And Sasha is someone that-- has Jay known Sasha longer than we have known Sasha?
123
Jay knows Sasha, yes.
124
Uh-huh. All right.
125
I have an alter ego also.
126
It's-- my name is Richard Simmons.
127
And I-- yeah.
128
All right, we have to take a break, and then we'll be back.
129
That's Beyonce as Etta James in Cadillac Records, and when does that come out?
130
December 5.
131
Uh-huh. That's fantastic.
132
Love Etta James.
133
I do too. I love her even more.
134
When I was a kid, I listened to a couple of the songs that my mom would play around the house, but I wasn't as familiar.
135
I mean, her and Muddy Waters and Little Walter, they started rock 'n' roll.
136
And that's what this movie is about.
137
It's a story that has to be told.
138
And I'm so proud to be a part of it.
139
Yeah. That must be amazing to be able to play these people and learn more about them like that.
140
Definitely.
141
She has such an interesting story.
142
I mean, they could do a whole movie on just her life.
143
Mm-hm. It was very different from my life, and it was crazy having to do the research and figure out how I can have the same pain in the psychology of her, where it came from, because at one point in her life, she was addicted to heroin.
144
So I had this really dark scene, and I've never done drugs.
145
So I just, you know, needed to understand her need to heal that pain, and it was very dark.
146
How did you do that?
147
Where did you find that?
148
Well, I visited the Phoenix House, and I spoke with a lot of women that were recovering and tried to understand the addiction.
149
And of course, I read her book.
150
It's the most honest book, autobiography, I've ever read, and watched some of her performances tried to understand, you know, she had a tough life.
151
And you know, I don't want to give too much away, but it was hard for me to be in that space because I'm a naturally happy person.
152
So I would come home with the swollen eyes, and I was really, really different because I wanted to-- even the physicalities are very different.
153
I don't walk or talk anything like the character.
154
And the best part was being able to say all the profanity because I don't curse.
155
So that was fun for you?
156
Oh yes, it was so much fun.
157
Get all that out of you?
158
I can get it all out.
159
Yeah, yeah.
160
I had an excuse.
161
My mother and father couldn't visit the set.
162
They were like, no, I don't know who this is.
163
We can't see this.
164
It's crazy.
165
But it was fun.
166
Well, who's that called?
167
Do you have a-- now you have-- That's Etta.
168
That's Etta.
169
OK, all right.
170
But that's more impressive that you're not anything like that, and you were able to capture a different walk and a different feel and embody that whole thing.
171
And I don't know if y'all got to see "Saturday Night Live" when Beyonce was on with Justin, but it was-- oh my god.
172
Now, you know, I just adore Justin.
173
He's a friend, and it was-- this is a piece out if you haven't seen it.
174
Justin is crazy.
175
Isn't he hilarious?
176
I just can't believe how hilarious he is.
177
Yeah. And he wasn't-- I didn't even know he would be there.
178
And they asked me to do it, and I was like, I don't know.
179
And then they said, Justin's coming.
180
I'm like, you're lying.
181
There's no way.
182
He showed up.
183
He had his leotard, his pumps and his robe, and he opened it up and just letting it all hang out.
184
I'm like, OK, Justin.
185
I know. I mean, just the leotard alone, but in those kitten heels and-- The kitten heels.
186
He told me that his ankles were so sore the next day.
187
They were. Why are his legs, like, more beautiful than any woman's?
188
I know. I know.
189
They're really-- and it seems like he shaves.
190
It does. It does.
191
I think-- they didn't look hairy at all.
192
They didn't.
193
They were very smooth.
194
No. Oh God, that's hilarious.
195
All right, and now-- because with your spare time, you decided to do a clothing line as well, right?
196
Yes, because my mother, of course in the beginning, did all of our hair, and she would design all of our costumes, and our fans will say, can we get clothes?
197
We want to, you know, look like Destiny's Child.
198
Mm-hm. So, instead of me just putting my name on a line, I wanted to really be involved, and my mother is so talented.
199
So we partnered up, and we're doing a clothing line.
200
And it's named after my grandmother because my grandmother used to be a seamstress, and she taught my mother how to sew.
201
So it's three generations of-- And it's called-- House of Deréon.
202
House of Deréon.
203
And I think we're going to give some clothes away to the audience, right?
204
We're back with Beyonce she's watching people interpret her songs and dance to her, and it's fantastic.
205
Fantastic. Yeah, looks fantastic.
206
Thank you. So, Beyonce and I got a chance to work together recently.
207
We did an American express commercial together, which was a whole lot of fun.
208
We'll show it to you right now.
209
What happened?
210
It was to the left, to the left.
211
I don't know.
212
I don't know.
213
We had different endings.
214
We kept doing different things.
215
I like that.
216
You like that one better?
217
The awkward, don't know where to look, nobody's paying attention to me thing?
218
I like that.
219
That was great.
220
So, what are you doing for thanksgiving?
221
I'm going to try to cook for the first time.
222
Really? It's very scary.
223
Very first time.
224
Yeah, yeah.
225
How many people?
226
It's probably about 8 or 10 people.
227
Well, you get to learn how to cook.
228
I know. Yeah.
229
Does Jay-Z care about that?
230
He doesn't care if you don't cook.
231
He actually, after me cooking a couple of times, just says, don't do it.
232
It's OK. Yeah.
233
Yeah. That's the way you get out of it.
234
Just do it bad on purpose.
235
That's a good little trick, guys.
236
Yeah, that is a good trick.
237
Now, are y'all going to-- you think you're going to have lots of babies?
238
Or just one?
239
Well, one day, maybe.
240
One day. I have my nephew, and I was there in the delivery room.
241
And it kind of traumatized me.
242
I was going to say.
243
That's enough to-- you shouldn't be there to see that.
244
I told my sister that.
245
I said, please, I'm telling you.
246
Don't have me in the room.
247
And she's like, you have to.
248
I'm your sister.
249
Stop being so silly.
250
Yeah. Well, I was right.
251
I'm traumatized.
252
Yeah. Now you're never going to have a baby.
253
But I will.
254
I'll have-- I'll have one.
255
Yeah. A couple, maybe.
256
Y'all would have some pretty and talented babies.
257
That would be good.
258
Thank you. I encourage that.
259
OK. I think go ahead and do it.

Ad esempio, "I am" diventa "I'm" e "you got to be" si trasforma in "you gotta be". Presta attenzione anche a "I don't know how to relax", dove "don't know" si fonde in "don't know" con una riduzione della "t" finale.

I do. When I get home, I'm like-- completely lazy", nota come l'accento cade su "do", "home" e "completely". But now, are you like me...?".
