3
Robin, tell us about yourself.
4
Well, I've travelled to South America a lot for my work,

and I know Argentina well now.
6
So well that I could be a tour guide if I wanted.
7
I speak fluent Spanish, so I don't need anyone to translate for me.
8
My job involves travelling around selling products for my company.
9
I meet a lot of people doing that,
10
and I wanted to share those experiences with others,
11
so I decided to try writing.
12
So, tell us about your last visit to Argentina.
13
What was the weather like?
14
Well, it was winter there,
15
so mornings were cold, but I'd expected that.
16
Every day they said on the radio that it would be sunny later,
17
and sure enough it was.
18
I wanted to go sightseeing,
19
and the weather was perfect for that.
20
And where did you go when you went sightseeing?
21
Well, I went to a wonderful market that sold everything from modern art to old records of traditional music which I collect.
22
I came home with a beautiful painting of the area.
23
I also saw a wonderful antique chair,
24
but unfortunately it was too big to bring back.
25
Now, Argentina is famous for its dancing.
26
Did you see any performances during your trip?
27
I did, yes.
28
It reminded me of when I used to attend dance classes.
29
I enjoyed them, although I was never very good.
30
I'm sure my teacher was pleased when I said I wasn't going to continue.
31
But these dancers made it look so easy that at that moment I felt like joining in and dancing with them.
32
Sounds wonderful.
33
And what else did you do?
34
Well, I went to a small village on the coast.
35
I took the bus there and got a room in a small hotel.
36
The hotel owner was very friendly.
37
He took me down the river in his boat.
38
It was very beautiful.
39
You could see the forest in the distance.
40
Do you have a favourite place in Argentina?
41
Definitely.
42
It's a mountain near Buenos Aires.
43
It's famous for its spectacular scenery.
44
But when I went there it was very misty and the sun was just rising.
45
You couldn't see much.
46
There were no birds or animals about.
47
It was totally quiet and I loved that.
48
I shall go back one day.
49
We look forward to reading your book.

  • I went to a wonderful market.
  • I wanted to go sightseeing.
  • It's famous for its spectacular scenery.
  • There were no birds or animals about.

  • Everything from modern art to old records – Pratica la fluidità nell'enunciare frasi lunghe e complesse.
