25
This is gonna be a ton of fun.

34
The train will be here any second.
35
I can't wait to see if it's real.

56
Hi dad.
57
Not supposed to talk real loud on trains apparently, or anywhere.
58
Alright, I found the bathroom.
59
Look at this.
60
Whoa!
61
This bathroom is sick.
62
Look how long and narrow the sink is.
63
I can do a fit check right here, turn around, boom another fit check.
64
Not only do the trains also have bidets, but there's a little sink next to the toilet.
65
What is that for?
66
What could that possibly be for?
67
All of the toilets here have warm seats.
68
That's amazing.
69
I wonder what my dad's doing right now.
70
I guess that's where you wash your hands, and I guess that's where you do your business.
71
Give some perspective on the massive sink.
72
That's it.
73
Let's go back.

On a scale of what?
83
On a scale of one to ten, what is the cool score?
84
Ready? On three.
85
Three, two, one, seven.
86
Eight.
87
Oh!
88
Why do you say eight?
89
The people, the culture.
90
I'm talking about the train.
91
La Vieux.
92
La Vieux, the train.
93
I don't know, you can put me on the spot.
94
- The good news is, before our next train ride, we're waiting in Tokyo Station, and there are endless restaurants to choose from.
95
We should go eat.
96
Let's go eat.
97
Left right for ramen.
98
Yeah, that one.
99
Arigatou gozaimasu!
100
Guys, I'm getting by with my very limited Japanese.
101
I said "wa doka desu ka ramen?" and she knew what I said.
102
Okay.
103
I think I said that wrong.
104
This bowl of ramen is looking scrumptious.
105
This is so much food.
106
I mean, this is like an absurd amount of food for anyone.
107
Don't worry, I already got photos of my dad and the ramen.
108
Look at these noodles.
109
Hearty.
110
There's some major slurpage going on in this room right now.
111
Like the whole room is just slurping.
112
It's awesome.
113
Don't mind me.
114
I'm just following rule number two of the video.
115

117
- Yeah.
118
The next train is a Hello Kitty train.
119
I did not expect my dad to be excited to ride this one, but he is.
120

126
A Hello Kitty train that goes 200 miles per hour.
127
And for my non -Americans watching, boom, that's how fast it is.
128
Just for you guys.
129
on board, as well as a kawaii room for lounging.
130
It's full of decorations.
131
It seems fun.
132
One thing is for certain, my dad and I are in for a treat.
133
Okay, hear me out.
134
This is my vision for the picture on this train.
135
My dad is vibing with Hello Kitty somewhere on the train.
136
That's pretty much all I got.
137
All aboard the Hello Kitty Express.
138
So we have reserved tickets in car number four.
139
This car is not themed, but the cars in the front are.
140
In the meantime, this seat is insanely nice.
141
This seat has a lot of similar features as the last train.
142
Table, cup holder, window shade.
143
But I think the main reason that people love this train so much is for the cars that are in front.
144
It seems pretty busy up front at the moment.
145
I've seen at least 14 people go up there.
146
So for the time being, we're just going to enjoy our drinks from the vending machine, sit back, relax, and enjoy the Hello Kitty ride.
147
As I'm waiting for the traffic in the Hello Kitty cars to die down, I decide, hmm, maybe I should just go check out the bathroom.
148
Maybe it's different from the other trains.
149
Maybe it's Hello Kitty themed.
150
This bathroom is not giving Hello Kitty vibes.
151
The sink is cute, so that's, I mean, that's a little on brand.
152
The window is actually crazy, like, I thought this would come down or something, but nope.
153
I guess I just take a whiz.
154
area is cute.
155
Pink polka dots, vanity mirror, cute little lipstick mouse.
156
You've got to go try that urinal.
157
All right guys, I think it's about that time.
158
Let's go to the helikitty car.
159
I cannot believe I'm going to say this, but car number three is way cooler than car number four.
160
It even has pink polka dots.
161
The rooms are getting progressively cuter.
162
This is crazy.
163
suspicious at all if I took a bunch of photos of my dad standing with Hello Kitty.
164
I cannot believe these pictures exist.
165
We made our way to the final train car and look at this.
166
We made it to the Hello Kitty souvenir shop.
167
I got this little Hello Kitty train car for Hailey.
168
I also purchased a Hello Kitty coin which allows you to use the toy machine.
169
Let's see what this is.
170
It's like a magnet lunchbox or something.
171
This train car is so cool.
172
There's a movie theater section, tons of souvenirs.
173
It is a souvenir shop and it's kind of just a vibe in here.
174
We've got another hour or so in our train ride, So I guess we'll just hang out in here, huh?
175
Let's do it.
176
Overall, this Hello Kitty train car has been so cute.
177
And even though my dad's probably not gonna say it out loud, I think he's really enjoying it.
178
Hello Kitty ride complete!
179
Okay, Dad, cool score on three.
180
Ready?
181
One, two, three, eight.
182
We flipped!
183
Yeah, we did.
184
Dang, okay.
185
Why do you give it a seven?
186
Because it felt like seven hours.
187
It actually was basically seven hours, so I'm gonna trick my dad into thinking I need thumbnails for this video, and I'm gonna have him model for me.
188
And just like that, it's time to say goodbye to the Hello Kitty Tr - Oh my gosh, my dad's already at the vending machines.
189
That man's already snacking, look at him.
190
She's snacking on.
191
chocolate fish, and then we looked around the train station for something yummy to eat.
192
This one has a huge 7 -Eleven, but we ultimately decided on a sushi place.
193
The food is yummy, it is delicious, except my dad keeps putting too much wasabi on his sushi.
194
Haley is actively framing photos back home and taking art off the wall.
195
Everything is going great.
196
It almost feels too good to be true.
197
Next up, Saphir Odoriko.
198
This train is beautiful.
199
There's a view of the ocean, potentially Pokemon, I don't know.
200
It's gonna be amazing.
201
This next train ride is going to be two and a half hours, and reportedly, it's the most scenic train ride there is.
202
Nice.
203
There are stunning views of the ocean, the seats could be called Thrones by the looks of it, and there is a kitchen on board.
204
There will be food involved.
205
Can I cook?
206
and more food is coming our way.
207
All aboard the most beautiful train in Japan!
208
Okay, I have terrible news.
209
I booked the wrong train ticket.
210
We can't go on the Saphir Odoriko.
211
Because I booked the wrong train ticket.
212
I got an animation made and everything.
213
This is devastating.
214
I actually feel so bad.
215
My dad was so excited for that one.
216
So was I.
217
Booking things on Japanese websites is confusing.
218
I told my dad, "It's okay, Dad." But I can tell he's upset.
219
He's just trying to stay positive.
220
But I think I know what can cheer him up until our next train ride tomorrow.
221
I decided to take my dad to the world's busiest crosswalk.
222
This is so cool.
223
We stood in the exact center and I took some photos.
224
Even though I booked the wrong train ticket, I think my dad is having a really good time.
225
We got some coffee, and my dad showed me this selfie he got with a Pikachu.
226
When did he do that?
227
I don't know when he did that.
228
It's night time!
229
We're back in Tokyo because tomorrow we are riding the fastest train.
230
As you can tell, my dad loves to go fast.
231
It's gonna be awesome.
232
In terms of secret photos that I captured of my dad today, here's the haul.
233
Pretty good.
234
Haley is hard at work framing my selections.
235
I'm actually so excited for this surprise when we get home, but I'm confident that the best photos are yet to come.
236
That's enough yapping.
237
I can't wait to go fast.
238
I'll see you in the morning.
239
I am going to bed.
240
Good morning.
241
It's the next day.
242
It's the morning of the next day.
243
We made our way to the train station, and I got straight to work.
244
It looks awesome.
245
It looks so cool.
246
They call it the Peregrine Falcon, aka the fastest train in Japan.
247
Some say it's so fast you can't even see it arrive.
248
It just shows up.
249
This train behind me reaches speeds of up to 200 miles per hour.
250
And for my non -Americans...
251
deal about it.
252
There's the speed.
253
It also has a 15 meter long nose.
254
I don't know much about trains, but I do know that's a long nose.
255
15 meters.
256
Yeah, that is a long nose.
257
That's a huge nose.
258
There's not many things cooler than going fast, so that's very compelling for this train's cool score.
259
Don't want to blink.
260
We might miss it.
261
We should actually go aboard.
262
We walk on board, and look how nice these
263
In terms of the picture I'm thinking about taking of my dad, I don't have very many ideas, and I don't think this one is very safe, so we'll have to figure it out as we go.
264
It's basically like booking first class on an airplane, and my dad wanted the best experience on this train in particular.
265
The seat itself is so comfortable, there are also these controls that make your seat recline.
266
Don't judge me, my feet were barely on the floor anyway.
267
This ticket also comes with a gift bag containing a water, a menu, a towel, and salt chocolate.
268
Anyway.
269
I also chugged the grand class water because how often do you get to chug grand class water?
270
The seat also comes with slippers, which of course I had to put on, outlets for charging, tiny table big table, a reading light, an extra pillow for napping and looking at the view,
271
and lastly, I'm pressing this button with a person on it to see what it does.
272
Do you have coffee?
273
Uh, ice?
274
Thank you.
275
I panicked and asked for coffee.
276
Me every morning.
277
Our train attendant quickly came back with two coffees and also gave us a treat.
278
It was it what this is.
279
My dad's dipping it in his coffee.
280
We don't know what to do with this cake.
281
We have not yet reached the top speed of this bullet train, and this train is actually not going to be the fastest in Japan for long
282
because they're working on a train that literally uses magnets to levitate, and it's going to be way faster.
283
But in the meantime, this is the fastest and arguably coolest train we could be riding.
284
I'm going to go check out the bathroom.
285
I cannot get over how big the bathrooms on these trains are.
286
I mean, I'm a pretty big guy, and look how much space I take up.
287
The fastest train in Japan has all the essentials.
288
Tiny corner sink, other tiny sink, right next to the toilet, bidet of course, and not one, but two flush buttons.
289
I walk back to my grand class seat and for the rest of this ride, soak in the beautiful landscape of Japan while moving at the speed of light.
290
That was a little dramatic.
291
We are going very fast.
292
Next thing we know, our complimentary meal has arrived.
293
Look how yummy.
294
It was very good.
295
I enjoyed this meal.
296
My dad's freaking out about the speed.
297
He loves speed.
298
It's like his main thing that he likes.
299
But before we arrive, I realized I haven't really gotten many photos.
300
So I gave my dad some cool glasses and I went to work.
301
We're gonna give a cool score rating on three.
302
One, two, three, ten.
303
Oh!
304
That was pretty cool.
305
I think so.
306
I mean just look at it.
307
It looks so sick.
308
Oh!
309
See?
310
That's how fast.
311
That's how fast.
312
That was terrifying.
313
There was another one.
314
Holy smokes.
315
Does your rating change with that?
316
9 .8.
317
Before we prepare for our next train, there's something I want to show you at this train station.
318
Alright, let's go.
319
We are basically in the middle of nowhere.
320
We have been all over Japan, but this train station has the legendary Pikachu train.
321
I snuck some pictures of my dad next to the Pikachu.
322
And then we went to check if there were any tickets left on the train because when I tried to look online, there were zero.
323
Okay.
324
Nothing.
325
This entire station is themed around this Pokemon train.
326
Look how cute these posters are.
327
They're adorable.
328
And even though we can't ride the train, we're still gonna try to step on it.
329
Because I think that's.. that would be cool.
330
I found the Pikachu train conductor and he was very nice.
331
And finally, it arrived.
332
Pokemon is like the first video game my dad ever got me, so this would have been really cool.
333
Whoa, a Pikachu!
334
I'm just happy we can see it in person.
335
The door's open and I am very nervous to get on without a ticket, but I'm doing it.
336
Look at this!
337
This is so cool!
338
Maybe one day.
339
Maybe.
340
So long Pikachu.
341
See you next time.
342
After a few hours, we made it back to the Tokyo train station.
343
There's a Pokemon store here, which is great.
344
I hear retail therapy is a very healthy way to deal with not riding the trains you want to ride.
345
I bought a bunch of stuff.
346
We did not get to ride it, but the cool score for Pikachu...
347
It's 10.
348
I'm not even including my dad in this.
349
I just...
350
I'm sorry.
351
This train was about me.
352
What up?
353
I thought it'd be funny to say "What up?" The upside down train's next, okay.
354
I mean, it looks upside down.
355
I don't know if it actually works like that.
356
That'd be weird.
357
I've been doing some thinking and I realized we've practically spanned the entirety of Japan in this video already.
358
Here's a visual representation, isn't that crazy?
359
Me and my dad are gonna split up for one of our last vending machine runs. So, uh...
360
Good luck!
361
Oh, he's running.
362
He doesn't normally.. okay.
363
Before I go to my vending machine, I just gotta say this picture says it all.
364
Literally says it all Nice I doubt my dad's gonna find
365
a better vending machine set up than this one I have learned that if I leave my dad alone long enough,
366
he's gonna find his way to a Levi's store for some reason Classic look at this handsome guy
367
I'm gonna surprise my dad with some candy, but before I can show it to you.
368
I have to explain something squished in my backpack for the past few days is my candy.
369
And I have a dream of candy aisles that have no fake junk and still taste amazing.
370
Some countries have already done this.
371
Japan, for example, they don't use fake colors either.
372
And based on Google Translate, also have much better ingredients.
373
That's my crazy dream for Joyride.
374
But how, Ryan, how can this dream be possible?
375
Well, we're starting in America and proving that we want better candy.
376
We are so close to becoming the number one candy in Target.
377
And when we do, there will be no excuse for any candy brand to ever say nearly becoming number one,
378
we are releasing this brand new crunchy and gummy candy.
379
It's a secret for now, that's why it's blurred.
380
But depending on when you're watching this video, you can go to Target right now and get it.
381
So if you live in America, go to Target, grab some Joyride and help us push to the number one spot.
382
But if you don't live in America, please follow Joyride on Instagram.
383
One day we might bring Joyride to your country.
384
Okay, I got my snacks.
385
Let's go find my dad and ride the upside down train.
386
Aw man, it's time for the emotional music already.
387
you This is our last stop, guys.
388
I don't really know if it's possible to get a photo like this, because I'm literally riding the train, and we're both defying gravity.
389
Last I checked, neither of us are the Wicked Witch of the West.
390
Heyo!
391
Little joke for you guys.
392
But this is the only train ride that we have at night time.
393
And we get to see the city all lit up.
394
This is so cool. So cool.
395
It's like we're flying.
396
This was by far the shortest train ride of the video.
397
It's only about 10 minutes.
398
And even though I didn't want it to end, It's probably good that it does.
399
It would be.. it would actually be scary if they didn't let us off.
400
The point is, we're here.
401
And I have no idea how this train works. But that's pretty cool.
402
Cool score on three?
403
One, two, three, eight.
404
Nine.
405
Oh, we didn't agree on a single one.
406
No, we didn't.
407
We were close.
408
There you have it.
409
These are our cool score rankings thus far.
410
It's been a fun day, and I don't really know where we are right now. So...
411
It is our last night in Japan, which means this is my last chance to get whatever photos I possibly can for my dad's room.
412
He wanted some at 7 -Eleven, and then he took the camera and started taking photos.
413
I don't even...
414
I don't know what he's doing, to be honest.
415
But obviously, Japan is not home, and the reason we take pictures is to remind us how we felt at some point in the past.
416
I don't consider myself a photographer or anything, but I feel like I got some really cool photos that I'm actually proud of.
417
And I hope my dad likes him, so let's surprise him back home in Texas.
418
Here we go.
419
You have to take it right.
420
I'm pushing you in, okay?
421
three, 2, 1, open!
