In this lesson we're going to be doing some more speaking skills practice and in particular, we're going to be practising with the mmmEnglish Imitation Technique which is one of the most effective ways to reduce your accent and to fix your pronunciation problems so that you speak more clearly and confidently in English.

And it's effective because it teaches you to listen to the sounds and the patterns of English and trains you to produce those same sounds yourself through repetition and controlled practise.

You're training your mouth with your ears by listening to the sounds and imitating them rather than training your mouth with your eyes by reading and guessing the pronunciation and the rhythm of words on a page.

You just need to get ready to speak out loud with me.

To practise with the Imitation Technique, there's just three simple steps that you need to follow.

The first one is, well you just need to listen to what I say and read the words on the screen as I say them.

Next, you'll be listening to what I say but then there'll be a pause so that you can repeat what I said.

You need to copy me exactly as you hear me.

You can even slow down the speed so that you can practise a little more slowly before stepping up to regular pace because step three is a challenge, even for a native English speaker.

You're going to be listening to me and saying what I'm saying at the same time and that's pretty much like practising along to your favourite song, right? You can't really do it straightaway but with a little bit of practice it gets easier and you'll start having fun.

  1. استمع واقرأ: قم بمشاهدة الفيديو واستمع لما يقوله المتحدث في الوقت نفسه الذي تقرأ فيه النص المعروض. هذا سيساعدك على ان تعتاد على النطق الصحيح.
  2. كرر بعدي: انتظر حتى يتوقف المتحدث وأعد ما قاله بدقة. هذا يساعدك على تشكيل الكلام بطريقة صحيحة. يمكنك تكرار هذه الخطوة عدة مرات لضمان تحسين نطقك.
  3. تحدث في الوقت نفسه: قم بتحدي نفسك بالتحدث مع المتحدث. هذا قد يكون صعباً في البداية، ولكن مع الممارسة ستحقق تقدمًا ملحوظًا. لا تتردد في ارتكاب الأخطاء، فالتعلم عن طريق الأخطاء هو جزء مهم من عملية التعلم.

ما هي تقنية التظليل الصوتي؟

التظليل الصوتي (Shadowing) تقنية تعلم لغة مدعومة علمياً، طُورت أصلاً لتدريب المترجمين الفوريين المحترفين. الطريقة بسيطة لكنها قوية: تستمع لصوت إنجليزي أصلي وتكرره فوراً بصوت عالٍ — كظل يتبع المتحدث بتأخير 1-2 ثانية. تُظهر الأبحاث تحسناً كبيراً في دقة النطق والتنغيم والإيقاع وربط الأصوات والاستماع والطلاقة.
