get on i'm getting on my scooter for vehicles with a roof there's a simple rule

if you can stand up and walk around then you get on

so i would get on a plane i'd get on a bus and i would get on a train.

For vehicles that you step inside, shut the door and sit down, you would get in.

So I might get in a car, I would get in a taxi, I would get in a helicopter.

So after I get on my bike,

I pick up my helmet and number three, I put it on.

I put on my helmet.

Next, we're gonna start the engine.

The fifth phrasal verb is to start up.

Now the engine is running and the journey is about to begin.

So the next phrasal verb is to set off.

I'm about to set off.

We can also say to head out.

I'm setting off on a journey.

Bye bye.

Number eight is to speed up.

Number nine is to slow down.

Easy tiger.

The next phrasal verb is to back up.

I'm backing up my bike and I'm gonna park it like a pro.

Perfect.

After I back up the bike I would kick down, kick down my kickstand.

I've just realized I have run out of petrol.

What does that mean to run out?

It means to have none left.

So I'm going to lift up my seat.

I'm going to unscrew the cap.

Unscrew isn't a phrasal verb but it's useful.

And the next phrasal verb I'm going to fill up my tank.

I'm going to fill up my petrol tank with water.

I'm not actually, I'm just going to pretend.

Why?

Because bikes don't drink water, they drink red wine.

After that, I'm going to screw on the cap.

I'm screwing on the cap.

We have an interesting idiom in English to have your head screwed on

and it basically means to make good decisions and be sensible and practical.

So if you have your head screwed on, you make good decisions.

If I don't have my head screwed on, I might accidentally fall over.

What is he doing?

He is...

sitting down.

Now what's he doing?

Standing up.

What is he doing now?

Lying down.

It's very bright outside.

What is he doing?

I'm putting on my sunglasses.

Now the sun has decided to hide behind the clouds.

What's he doing?

I'm taking off my sunglasses.

When you want to get rid of something, which is to remove it, you would throw it away.

I've just thrown away my water bottle.

Now, extra bit of info, this is a rubbish bin in British English.

In American English they call it a trash can, but in British English it's a rubbish bin.

So you throw away your rubbish.

The next phrasal verb is to climb up.

You would climb up a ladder typically, or maybe you could climb up a mountain.

So I'm climbing up.

the opposite of climb up is to climb what down you guessed it now I am climbing down the ladder

and at the bottom I will jump off so I'm climbing up the climbing frame

squeezing through and I'm about to slide down the slide and everything's a bit noisy so I'm I'm going to wait,

wait for the trucks and the bikes to go.

And now I am sliding down.

Learning English should be fun, so when you learn try to adopt a beginner mindset.

Even if you're advanced, always look at things with a fresh perspective.

This allows you to stay playful and stay curious.

This phrasal verb is to work out.

which is basically to do exercise.

Feels good to work out.

When your body moves, your brain grooves.
