Modal perfect
must / might / should + have + V3 — 對過去事件的推測或評判
|---|---|---|
| 肯定式 | 情態動詞 + have + V3 | She must have left. |
| 否定式 | 情態動詞 + not + have + V3 | He can't have seen it. |
| Could they have taken the wrong road? |
| 被動 | 情態動詞 + have been + V3 | The letter might have been lost. |
| 進行式 | 情態動詞 + have been + V-ing | He must have been sleeping. |
口語中 have 幾乎聽不見:must've /ˈmʌstəv/、should've、could've、might've——聽起來像 “must of”。
|---|---|---|
| 幾乎肯定發生了 | must have + V3 | The lights are off. They must have gone to bed. |
| 有可能,但不確定 | might / may / could have + V3 | He might have missed the bus. |
| 可能沒有發生 | might not / may not have + V3 | She may not have heard you. |
| 幾乎肯定沒有發生 | can't / couldn't have + V3 | You can't have finished already! |
Nobody's answering. They must have gone out.
I may have left my wallet in the taxi.
Minh can't have written this — he doesn't speak French.
She couldn't have known about the party. We kept it secret.
must have(表示推測時)的否定通常是 can't have / couldn't have。 (He must not have seen me),但縮寫 mustn't have 很少用。注意 couldn't have(不可能)比 might not have(也許沒有)語氣強得多。
見“推斷:must / can't”一課。
|---|---|---|
She must be at home. | She must have been at home. |
That can't be true. | That can't have been true. |
He might be busy. | He might have been busy. |
You should rest. | You should have rested. |
4.Should have:本該怎麼做
should have + V3 = 本該這樣做(但實際沒做);shouldn't have + V3 = 本不該這樣做(但實際做了)。 ought to have 意思相同,但不太常用。
We should have booked a table — the place is full.
You shouldn't have said that to her.
You ought to have asked before borrowing my bike.
The parcel should have arrived by now.
5.Could have、would have、needn't have
(You could have told me!)。
I could have gone to university, but I chose to work.
You could have told me the meeting was cancelled!
We couldn't have asked for better weather.
I would have called you, but my phone died.
You needn't have cooked so much — there are only four of us.
I didn't need to cook — we ate out.
She must has forgotten our meeting. She must have forgotten our meeting.

can't have + 過去分詞。
She should have been arrived by now.She should have arrived by now.

不確定 → might / may / could have。
