must / might / should + have + V3 — คาดเดาหรือประเมินเรื่องในอดีต
1.รูปประโยค
Modal + have + กริยาช่อง 3 ใช้คาดเดาหรือตัดสินเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้นไปแล้ว have ไม่เปลี่ยนรูปเลย — ไม่ว่าประธานจะเป็นอะไร ก็ไม่ใช้ has หรือ had

ในภาษาพูด have แทบไม่ได้ยินเลย: must've /ˈmʌstəv/, should've, could've, might've — ฟังดูเหมือน “must of” เวลาเขียนให้เขียน have เสมอ และหลัง have ใช้กริยาช่อง 3 (gone, seen) ไม่ใช่ช่อง 2 (went, saw)
2.คาดเดาเรื่องในอดีต
เลือก modal ตามความมั่นใจของคุณ:

4.Should have: สิ่งที่ควรทำ
should have + V3 = สิ่งนั้นควรทำ (แต่ไม่ได้ทำ) shouldn't have + V3 = สิ่งนั้นไม่ควรทำ (แต่ทำไปแล้ว) ใช้แสดงความเสียดายหรือตำหนิ ought to have ความหมายเหมือนกันแต่ใช้น้อยกว่า should have ยังหมายถึง “ป่านนี้ตามที่คาดไว้ น่าจะ…แล้ว” ได้ด้วย
We should have booked a table — the place is full.
เราน่าจะจองโต๊ะไว้ — ร้านเต็มแล้ว
You shouldn't have said that to her.

You ought to have asked before borrowing my bike.

5.Could have, would have, needn't have
- could have + V3: เป็นไปได้ แต่ไม่ได้เกิดขึ้น และใช้บ่นเบา ๆ ได้ด้วย (You could have told me!)
- couldn't have + ขั้นกว่า: ไม่มีทางดีกว่า / แย่กว่านี้ได้อีกแล้ว
- would have + V3: คุณเต็มใจหรือพร้อมจะทำ แต่มีบางอย่างมาขัดไว้
- needn't have + V3 (ส่วนใหญ่แบบบริติช): คุณทำไปแล้ว แต่ไม่จำเป็นต้องทำ เทียบกับ didn't need to + กริยา: ไม่จำเป็น จึง (มักจะ) ไม่ได้ทำ
I could have gone to university, but I chose to work.
