1
Hey guys what's up it's Syd.
2
Today I'm going to be doing an intro video just talking about my channel
3
and talking about what I'm going to be putting on my channel
4
so then you guys know what I'm going to be posting.
5
So first off I am going to be a beauty guru.
6
On this channel I will be posting,
7
if you aren't familiar with the beauty community,
8
hair videos, makeup videos, outfit videos, fun videos.
9
I love to cook too so I will definitely be posting a few recipe videos from Christmas treats and things like that.
10
And I will for sure be posting some DIYs so stay tuned for those.
11
I have some fun ones in store for you guys.
12
I did have a channel before this when I was younger about 3 or 4 years ago.
13
It was on my iPad and me and my brother would just do some random videos.
14
And then I started getting into the beauty community and I did a couple beauty videos.
15
Some that I didn't upload because I was kind of nervous that people would see them.
16
And I just wasn't fully comfortable yet of uploading the rest.
17
So I do have a few of those that I haven't uploaded from a while ago.
18
And then I have some on my other channel which is now private.
19
So maybe sometime I'll make it public so you guys can see it.
20
But now I am officially a beauty guru.
21
I'm so excited because I just get to be a part of the community.
22
I've been watching so many beauty videos for so long.
23
I love them.
24
They just really inspire me and I just kind of clicked to that community.
25
Some people like more of the comedy,
26
some people like other aspects of YouTube,
27
but I love the beauty community,
28
and I just felt like I was a part of it.
29
So, without further ado, let's just get into the intro video.
30
So basically, ever since I was little,
31
I have loved to act and sing and just be myself and entertain people,
32
but I've had a few throat problems,
33
so I had to stop doing theater and stuff,
34
But hopefully soon I'll be able to get back into the whole theater aspect of it because I love putting in performances.
35
I remember when I was younger I used to do videos for my family
36
and then I would have like tickets that I sold for like 10 cents.
37
It was just a fun thing for me.
38
I've always loved to be in front of the camera and act and just be myself.
39
When I was three I started gymnastics and dance.
40
And then I did both of them for a while.
41
And then gymnastics kind of was my forte, I guess.
42
I love gymnastics.
43
I kind of took gymnastics on rather than dance.
44
I kind of left dance behind.
45
And then I continued gymnastics very competitively.
46
I was on a team.
47
I just got hurt a lot.
48
So as I progressed through the levels,
49
it just became harder and harder because I kept getting hurt all the time.
50
And I was taken out a lot.
51
It was just hard to advance when you continue to get hurt.
52
We just realized that it wasn't the best sport for me.
53
It was really hard to give up that sport because that was pretty much my life other than acting.
54
It was really difficult.
55
But that's when I kind of merged into my whole acting, singing life.
56
I learned like, okay, well I guess instead of just not doing gymnastics anymore and just stopping my whole life,
57
I decided to change my whole forte into my acting and singing.
58
So I, I spit, not classy.
59
So then I kind of just changed my forte into acting and singing.
60
I mainly focused on that and brought that into my daily life more.
61
And I just did singing lessons.
62
I was in the plays and musicals,
63
like I said, in middle school and I just had a blast.
64
Then my throat started hurting and I'm currently doing voice therapy
65
so my voice is just getting strained a lot so hopefully that will be better soon.
66
And then YouTube came and I was like yes YouTube yes.
67
I loved it, I loved the atmosphere,
68
I loved everything about it.
69
I just felt like I could really connect with every single beauty guru pretty much.
70
We all had a connection.
71
And if you're a part of the beauty community you don't even have to make YouTube videos to be part of it.
72
You know what I'm saying.
73
You have this connection.
74
I just love it.
75
I love watching them.
76
It's kind of a hobby So now I'm kind of making videos for everybody else
77
so then they can also become a part of the beauty community
78
if they haven't already I just think it would be super fun and it is my hobby.
79
I love being in front of the camera just being myself
80
So basically I would say half a year ago I really was feeling down and I realized hey,
81
I should make a YouTube video should become part of the whole beauty community
82
and I love photography as well
83
so it's like oh my gosh you know what maybe I'll
84
save up for some lights I'll ask for a laptop for my birthday I just had it all planned out
85
so I've been working towards this moment for a
86
while now I am so so excited to just become a part of it finally.
87
I know I didn't have to do this,
88
buy the lights, get the laptop,
89
but it's what I wanted.
90
So I'm so excited to just really be a part of it
91
and put on a fun show for you guys probably once a week or something like that.
92
I gotta figure out the schedule still.
93
I'm not quite sure yet of the consistency.
94
I know I will be posting at least once a week,
95
maybe twice a week.
96
I do not have a set schedule yet.
97
If I do have a set schedule,
98
I will let you guys know.
99
That's all I have for today.
100
I hope you guys like my channel.
101
I hope you guys like this video.
102
And if you did like this video,
103
make sure to give it a thumbs up.
104
And I will see you guys next video.
105
Bye.
106
So I will be...
107
Wait, what?
108
What?
109
What?
110
Selfie.
111
Leg and selfie.
112
Oh my gosh, a mini heart attack there.
113
If you haven't noticed, I'm really clumsy.
114
You don't want to touch my lips because my lip gloss would get on my fingers.
115
Fact number 25, I'm very good at yoga.
116
Today I'm going to be doing an intro video.
117
And I have hair and my face, yet again.
118
The sass is real.
119
I'm so sassy, my mom's contact name for me is Sydney the Sassy Girl.
120
Woo, woo.
121
See ya.

  • “I love to…” - This expression conveys passion and interest, especially when discussing hobbies or activities.
  • “So basically…” - A useful transitional phrase to summarize or clarify your points when explaining something in conversation.

Common Pronunciation Traps

While practicing with this video, pay attention to a few pronunciation challenges that learners often face:

  • “Excited” - The initial vowel sound can be tricky; make sure to emphasize the “ex” sound clearly.
  • “Community” - This word contains multiple syllables; practice breaking it down (com-mu-ni-ty) to ensure clarity.
  • “Performances” - Another multi-syllable word that requires careful attention to the stress on “form” to sound more natural.

Focusing on these pronunciation nuances will help you achieve more fluent and natural speech, aligning with the goals of the shadow speak technique. As you practice, don't hesitate to replay parts of the video and mimic Syd’s pronunciation to master these tricky words.
