I / me / my / mine
初級Pronouns and possessives: I / me / my / mine
I–me–my–mine, Lan's, a friend of mine, my own — 誰がするか、誰のものか
|---|---|---|---|
| I | me | my | mine |
| you | you | your | yours |
| he | him | his | his |
| she | her | her | hers |
| it | it | its | —(ほとんど使わない) |
| we | us | our | ours |
| they | them | their | theirs |
覚え方:最後の列のほとんどは、3列目に + -s をつけただけです:your → yours, her → hers, our → ours, their → theirs。
(I, he, she, we, they)は動詞の前に来て、動作をする人を表します。目的格の代名詞(me, him, her, us, them)は動詞の後ろか前置詞の後ろ(for, with, to, at, about…)
She loves him, but he doesn't love her.
Can you help me with this box?
This present is for you.
We're going to the beach. Why don't you come with us?
Who's there? — It's me.
(日常英語では It's I ではなく me を使う)
Nam and I play badminton on Sundays.
(主語 → I)
Mum bought ice cream for my brother and me.
(前置詞 for の後ろ → me)
I か me か迷ったら、もう1人を外して試してみましょう:「Mum bought ice cream for me」✓ —「for I」とは誰も言わないので、「for my brother and me」が正解です。くだけた会話では「Me and Nam played…」
3.my か mine か
my, your, his, her, its, our, their mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs は単独で使い、「my + 名詞」全体の代わりになります。
This is my phone. = This phone is mine.
Is this your umbrella or hers?
Our garden is small, but theirs is huge.
The cat is licking its paw.
- his / her は、物ではなく持ち主で決まります:Lan and her brother(ランは女性 → her)、Minh and his sister(ミンは男性 → his)。
- 所有代名詞にはアポストロフィをつけません:yours, hers, ours, theirs(your's, her's ではない)。
- its =「それの」、it's = it is / it has。The dog wagged its tail. / It's raining.
- my/mine の前に the や a はつけません:my book(the my book ではない)。
Lan's
を使います(Who's = who is と混同しないように)。
This is Lan's room.
My parents' house is in Hue.
Whose umbrella is this? — It's Minh's.
Who's that man next to your dad?
(Who's = Who is)
's と of(the name of the song)の使い分けは、レッスン「-'s か of か」を見てください。
5.a friend of mine と my own
a / an + 名詞 + of mine / yours / hers / Lan's… 「a my friend」や「a friend of me」とは言えません。
Tuan is an old friend of mine.
I met a cousin of yours at the wedding.
my own, your own, his own…
I finally have my own room.
She wants to start her own business.
Bring your own water bottle.
ただし「友達の1人」と言いたいときは、「a my friend」ではなく a friend of mine を使います。
Can you help I?Can you help me?

正しい形は a friend of mine です。
