“be used to” + -ing

be used to + 名词 / 代词 / -ing 表示你已经习惯某事：它对你来说不再新鲜或陌生。get used to 表示逐渐习惯——从陌生变成正常的过程。

💡这里的 to 是介词，不是不定式的 to。所以后面总是接名词或 -ing：I'm used to getting up early（不说：used to get up）。

be 照常随时态变化：am/is/are used to（现在）、was/were used to（那时）、will be used to（将来）。

• I've lived in Hanoi for years, so I'm used to the traffic.

  我在河内住了好多年，所以已经习惯这里的交通了。

• My brother is a chef, so he's used to standing all day.

  我哥哥是厨师，所以他习惯整天站着。

• When I first came to Saigon, I wasn't used to the heat.

  我刚到西贡的时候，还不习惯那里的炎热。

• Are you used to working from home yet?

  你习惯在家办公了吗？

• Teachers are used to being asked the same question again and again.

  老师们已经习惯一遍又一遍地被问同一个问题。（被动：being + 过去分词）

get used to 可以用于各种时态，常和 soon、slowly、still、it took me a while… 连用，表示这个变化需要多长时间。现在完成时里，英式英语说 have got used to，美式英语通常说 have gotten used to。become used to 也对，但更正式。

• Don't worry — you'll soon get used to the food here.

  别担心——你很快就会习惯这里的饭菜。

• I'm slowly getting used to my new keyboard.

  我正在慢慢适应我的新键盘。

• It took me a month to get used to working nights.

  我花了一个月才习惯上夜班。

• Have you got used to your new glasses yet?

  你习惯戴新眼镜了吗？

• My uncle lived in Germany for ten years, but he never got used to the dark winters.

  我叔叔在德国住了十年，可始终没能习惯那里昏暗的冬天。

这三个结构看起来很像，但意思大不相同。看看前面有没有 be/get，后面接的是动词原形还是 -ing。另见“‘used to’”一课。

• I used to drink coffee with sugar, but now I don't.

  我以前喝咖啡加糖，现在不加了。（过去的习惯）

• I'm used to drinking coffee without sugar now.

  我现在已经习惯喝不加糖的咖啡了。（现在已经习惯）

💡学习者常常漏掉 be，说成 “I used to the noise”——这是错的。现在已经习惯 = I'm used to the noise。只有过去的习惯（“我以前这样做”）才用 I used to + 动词。

还要注意第四种意思：be used to + 动词原形 也可以是动词 use 的被动语态（被用来做某事）：Wood is used to make paper. 这里 used 读作 /juːzd/；而在 used to（过去的习惯）和 be used to（习惯于）里读作 /juːst/。

• ✗I'm used to work late at night.

  ✓I'm used to working late at night.

  be used to + -ing，不接动词原形。

• ✗He isn't use to the heat yet.

  ✓He isn't used to the heat yet.

  永远是 used，带 -d。

• ✗I've lived in Sydney for two years, so I used to driving on the left.

  ✓…so I'm used to driving on the left.

  说现在的情况需要 be：I'm used to。

• ✗I'm using to the traffic now.

  ✓I'm used to the traffic now.

  这个结构从不用 using。

• ✗It took me a while to get used with the new software.

  ✓It took me a while to get used to the new software.

  介词永远是 to。

• ✗She's getting used to live alone.

  ✓She's getting used to living alone.

  get used to 后面也接 -ing。
