“Be used to” + -ing
be/get used to + -ing
|---|---|---|
| คุ้นเคยแล้ว | be used to + คำนาม / -ing | I'm used to the noise. / She's used to working late. |
| ไม่คุ้นเคย | be not used to + คำนาม / -ing | I'm not used to spicy food. |
| เริ่มคุ้นเคย | get used to + คำนาม / -ing | You'll get used to it. / I'm getting used to driving on the right. |
Are you used to…? / Have you got used to…? | Are you used to the heat yet? |
I'm used to getting up early (ไม่ใช่: used to get up)
2.Be used to — คุ้นเคยแล้ว
Be เปลี่ยนตาม tense ตามปกติ: am/is/are used to (ตอนนี้), was/were used to (ตอนนั้น), will be used to (ภายหลัง)

3.Get used to — เริ่มคุ้นเคย
Get used to ใช้ได้ทุก tense และมักมาคู่กับ soon, slowly, still, it took me a while… เพื่อบอกว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงใช้เวลานานแค่ไหน ใน Present Perfect อังกฤษแบบบริติชพูดว่า have got used to ส่วนอังกฤษแบบอเมริกันมักพูดว่า have gotten used to Become used to ก็ถูก แต่ทางการกว่า
Don't worry — you'll soon get used to the food here.

4.เทียบกับ “used to” + กริยา
|---|---|---|
| used to + กริยา | นิสัยหรือสภาพในอดีตที่ไม่เป็นแบบนั้นแล้ว | I used to live alone. |
| be used to + คำนาม / -ing | คุ้นเคยแล้ว (ตอนนี้ หรือในช่วงเวลาที่พูดถึง) | I'm used to living alone. |
| get used to + คำนาม / -ing | เริ่มคุ้นเคย | I'm getting used to living alone. |

I'm used to drinking coffee without sugar now.
ผู้เรียนมักตก be แล้วพูดว่า “I used to the noise” — ซึ่งผิด คุ้นเคยตอนนี้ = I'm used to the noise ส่วนนิสัยในอดีต (“เมื่อก่อนเคยทำแบบนี้”) เท่านั้นที่ใช้ I used to + กริยา
ระวังความหมายที่สี่: be used to + กริยารูปเดิม อาจเป็น passive ของกริยา use (ถูกใช้เพื่อทำอะไร): Wood is used to make paper. ตรงนี้ used ออกเสียง /juːzd/ ส่วนใน used to (นิสัยในอดีต) และ be used to (คุ้นเคย) ออกเสียง /juːst/
I'm used to work late at night.I'm used to working late at night.
Be used to + -ing
He isn't use to the heat yet.He isn't used to the heat yet.
I've lived in Sydney for two years, so I used to driving on the left.…so I'm used to driving on the left.
พูดถึงตอนนี้ต้องมี be: I'm used to
I'm using to the traffic now.I'm used to the traffic now.
It took me a while to get used with the new software. It took me a while to get used to the new software.
บุพบทคือ to เสมอ
She's getting used to live alone. She's getting used to living alone.
Get used to ก็ตามด้วย -ing
