Lektion 84 · Etappe 7: Nomen, Artikel & Begleiter
-'s oder of
Mittelstufe-'s or of
Form & Gebrauch
my sister's name, the end of the film, today's news — zeigen, wem oder wozu etwas gehört
1.So schreibst du -'s
Besitzer + 's + Sache: Lan's bike.
| Besitzer | Form | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|
| Singular | + 's | my sister's room, the dog's bed |
| Plural mit -s | + ' | my sisters' room, my parents' house |
| Plural ohne -s | + 's | the children's toys, the women's team, people's opinions |
| Name auf -s | + 's / + ' | James's car / James' car |
| zwei gemeinsame Besitzer | 's beim letzten Namen | Lan and Minh's flat |
This is my sister's room.
Das ist das Zimmer meiner Schwester. (eine Schwester)
This is my sisters' room.
Das ist das Zimmer meiner Schwestern. (zwei oder mehr Schwestern)
I'm staying at my parents' house this weekend.
Dieses Wochenende wohne ich bei meinen Eltern.
The children's room is upstairs.
Das Kinderzimmer ist oben.
Du kannst 's auch ohne Nomen danach benutzen, wenn klar ist, was gemeint ist, vor allem für jemandes Zuhause oder ein Geschäft oder eine Praxis: at Lan's (bei Lan zu Hause), at the doctor's, at the hairdresser's.
This isn't my phone. It's Minh's.
Das ist nicht mein Handy. Es ist Minhs.
We had dinner at Lan's last night.
2.Personen bekommen -'s, Dinge bekommen of
's benutzt man hauptsächlich für Personen und Tiere. Für Dinge, Ideen und Teile von etwas (top, bottom, end, middle, back) nimmt man normalerweise the … of ….
| Personen, Tiere: 's | Dinge, Teile von Dingen: of |
|---|---|
| Nam's laptop | the top of the page |
| my teacher's name | the name of the street |
| the cat's tail | the end of the film |
| our boss's office | the back of the bus |
Wenn der Besitzer eine lange Wortgruppe ist, nimm of, damit es verständlich bleibt: the son of the couple who live upstairs (vermeide: the couple who live upstairs's son).
What's your teacher's name?
Wie heißt dein Lehrer?
Write your name at the top of the page.
Schreib deinen Namen oben auf die Seite. (nicht: the page's top)
We sat at the back of the bus.
The company's profits rose last year. = The profits of the company rose last year.
Vietnam's economy is growing fast.
Die Wirtschaft Vietnams wächst schnell.
Tokyo is one of the world's biggest cities.
4.Zeit: today's news, a week's holiday
Zeitwörter können 's bekommen: today's / yesterday's / tomorrow's, tonight's, this week's / next month's / last year's. Das Wort mit 's ersetzt the.
Have you read today's news?
Hast du die heutigen Nachrichten gelesen? (nicht: the today's news)
Last night's match was amazing.
Das Spiel gestern Abend war großartig.
Next week's meeting has been cancelled.
Die Besprechung nächste Woche wurde abgesagt.
Für eine Zeitdauer (häufig im britischen Englisch): a week's holiday, two weeks' holiday, ten minutes' walk, in a year's time. Die Bedeutung ist dieselbe wie bei a one-week holiday, a ten-minute walk (siehe Lektion „Nomen + Nomen“).
I'm taking two weeks' holiday in July.
Im Juli nehme ich zwei Wochen Urlaub. (weeks' — ein Plural mit -s bekommt nur ')
The station is only five minutes' walk from here.
