Lektion 85 · Etappe 7: Nomen, Artikel & Begleiter
No / none / any, nothing / nobody
MittelstufeForm & Gebrauch
There's no milk, none of them, any colour you like, nobody came — null und „egal welche“
1.No, none und not any
no bedeutet „kein“. Es steht direkt vor einem Nomen — Singular, Plural oder unzählbar — und das Verb bleibt bejaht. none benutzt man, wenn kein Nomen folgt: allein oder als none of + the/my/these… / it / them.
| Steht mit | Beispiel | |
|---|---|---|
| no | einem Nomen (Singular, Plural oder unzählbar) | There's no milk. I have no idea. |
| none | allein, ohne Nomen | How much milk is there? — None. |
| none of | the / my / these… + Nomen, oder it / us / them | None of my friends came. None of it is true. |
| not … any | verneintes Verb + any + Nomen | There isn't any milk. |
There's no bus after eleven, so we took a taxi.
Sorry, I have no idea where she is.
How many tickets are left? — None. They sold out this morning.
Wie viele Tickets sind noch übrig? — Keine. Heute Morgen waren sie ausverkauft.
I bought three melons, but none of them were sweet.
no + Nomen und not … any + Nomen bedeuten dasselbe: There's no sugar = There isn't any sugar. Gesprochen ist not … any häufiger; no klingt stärker und endgültiger. Nach none of + Nomen im Plural kann das Verb im Plural oder Singular stehen: None of my friends smoke / smokes (Plural klingt gesprochen natürlicher, Singular ist formeller).
Das deutsche „kein“ ist auf Englisch no (vor einem Nomen) oder not … any — nie not allein vor einem Nomen: „There is not bread“ ist falsch. Merk dir: not gehört zum Verb (isn't, don't, didn't), no gehört zum Nomen: There's no bread / There isn't any bread. Und no steht nie vor of — vor of brauchst du none.
2.Nothing, nobody, nowhere
no- + -thing / -body / -one / -where ergibt Wörter, die schon verneint sind.
| Bedeutung | Wort mit no- | = not + any- |
|---|---|---|
| kein Ding (nichts) | nothing | not … anything |
| keine Person (niemand) | nobody / no one | not … anybody / anyone |
| kein Ort (nirgendwo) | nowhere | not … anywhere |
Nobody answered the phone.
Niemand ist ans Telefon gegangen.
What did you buy? — Nothing. It was all too expensive.
Was hast du gekauft? — Nichts. Es war alles zu teuer.
I said nothing. = I didn't say anything.
Ich habe nichts gesagt. (beide Sätze bedeuten dasselbe)
We had nowhere to stay that night.
Wir hatten in dieser Nacht keine Unterkunft.
Nobody in my class has done their homework.
(has im Singular, aber their)
Ein Satz braucht nur ein Verneinungswort: entweder ein Wort mit no- und ein bejahtes Verb (I saw nobody) oder not + any- (I didn't see anybody). Als Subjekt nimmst du das Wort mit no-: Nobody came — nicht „Anybody didn't come“ oder „Not anybody came“.
3.Any = egal welche
In einem bejahten Satz bedeutet any / anything / anybody / anywhere „egal welche / was / wer / wo“. In dieser Bedeutung steht any oft mit einem Nomen im Singular (any bus, any colour), und es kommt oft mit can / could, you like und I don't mind vor.
Take any seat you like.
Nimm irgendeinen Platz, wie du möchtest.
This is really easy. Anybody can do it.
Das ist wirklich leicht. Das kann jeder.
I'm so hungry I could eat anything.
Ich habe solchen Hunger, ich könnte alles essen.
Call me any time. I'm usually at home.
Ruf mich jederzeit an. Ich bin meistens zu Hause.
Vergleiche no- (null) und any- (egal welche):
| no- = null | any- = egal welche |
|---|---|
| There was no bus, so we walked. | You can take any bus. They all go to the centre. |
| Nobody wants this job. It's too hard. | Anybody can do this job. It's very easy. |
| What do you want to eat? — Nothing, thanks. | What do you want to eat? — Anything. I don't mind. |
Any in Fragen und verneinten Sätzen (Is there any milk? I don't have any) wird in der Lektion „Some und any“ erklärt. Hier geht es um seine zweite Bedeutung: any in einem bejahten Satz = „egal welche“.
4.Typische Fehler
