-'s o of
Intermedio-'s or of
Forma e uso
my sister's name, the end of the film, today's news — indicare a chi o a cosa appartiene qualcosa
1.Come si scrive -'s
Possessore + 's + cosa posseduta: Lan's bike.
| Possessore | Forma | Esempio |
|---|---|---|
| singolare | + 's | my sister's room, the dog's bed |
| plurale in -s | + ' | my sisters' room, my parents' house |
| plurale senza -s | + 's | the children's toys, the women's team, people's opinions |
| nome che finisce in -s | + 's / + ' | James's car / James' car |
| due possessori insieme | 's sull'ultimo nome | Lan and Minh's flat |

The children's room is upstairs.
This isn't my phone. It's Minh's.
Questo non è il mio telefono. È di Minh.
We had dinner at Lan's last night.
Ieri sera abbiamo cenato da Lan.
Con 's il possessore viene prima e the sparisce: Lan's bike (non: the bike of Lan, non: the Lan's bike).
| Persone, animali: 's | Cose, parti di cose: of |
|---|---|
| Nam's laptop | the top of the page |
| my teacher's name | the name of the street |
| the cat's tail | the end of the film |
| our boss's office | the back of the bus |
Quando il possessore è un'espressione lunga, usa of per essere chiaro: the son of the couple who live upstairs (da evitare: the couple who live upstairs's son).
What's your teacher's name?
Come si chiama il tuo insegnante?
Write your name at the top of the page.
(non: the page's top)

3.Organizzazioni e luoghi: vanno bene tutti e due
