1.Superlative के बाद आने वाले तीन ढाँचे
Superlative के साथ अक्सर बताना पड़ता है कि किसमें सबसे ऊपर। इसके तीन आम तरीके हैं:

झटपट जाँच: जगह या समूह (class, team, company, family) → in; संख्या, बहुवचन संज्ञा या समय की अवधि → of।

Ha Long Bay is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
हा लोंग बे दुनिया की सबसे ख़ूबसूरत जगहों में से एक है।
Phong is the funniest person in our class.
फोंग हमारी क्लास का सबसे मज़ाकिया इंसान है।
Grandma makes the best spring rolls in town.
दादी शहर के सबसे अच्छे स्प्रिंग रोल बनाती हैं।
2. of + संख्या, बहुवचन संज्ञा, समय की अवधि
Lan is the youngest of the four children.
चारों बच्चों में लान सबसे छोटी है।
This shop is the cheapest of all.
सबमें यह दुकान सबसे सस्ती है।
It was the happiest day of my life.
वह मेरी ज़िंदगी का सबसे ख़ुशी भरा दिन था।
Tet is the busiest time of the year.
टेट साल का सबसे व्यस्त समय होता है।
3.ever के साथ
“सबसे …, जो मैंने कभी …” कहने के लिए superlative + संज्ञा + (that) + कर्ता + have/has ever + past participle इस्तेमाल करें। present perfect इसलिए आता है क्योंकि यह अब तक के आपके अनुभव को समेटता है। That आम तौर पर छोड़ दिया जाता है।
This is the best pizza I've ever eaten.
यह सबसे अच्छा पिज़्ज़ा है जो मैंने कभी खाया है।
That was the worst film I have ever seen.
वह सबसे बेकार फ़िल्म थी जो मैंने कभी देखी है।
Who's the most famous person you've ever met?
आप अब तक जिनसे मिले हैं, उनमें सबसे मशहूर व्यक्ति कौन है?
भूतकाल की कोई कहानी सुनाते समय (भूतकाल के किसी समय तक), had ever + past participle इस्तेमाल करें। Ever संज्ञा के ठीक बाद भी आ सकता है: the best day ever।
It was the worst storm the town had ever seen.
वह सबसे भयंकर तूफ़ान था जो उस शहर ने कभी देखा था।
Today was the best day ever!
आज अब तक का सबसे अच्छा दिन था!
“never” वाले वाक्य को superlative में बदला जा सकता है: I've never seen such a big fish. = It's the biggest fish I've ever seen। Superlative के साथ never नहीं, ever लगाएँ।
बोलचाल में, ख़ासकर American English में, कभी-कभी the best movie I ever saw (past simple) सुनने को मिलेगा। सीखने और लिखने के लिए सुरक्षित रूप अब भी I've ever seen ही है।
4.ज़ोर देना: by far, one of the
the + superlative से पहले By far इस बात पर ज़ोर देता है कि “सबसे ऊपर है, और कोई आस-पास भी नहीं”। One of the + superlative + बहुवचन संज्ञा नरम है — यह नंबर एक होने का दावा नहीं करता।
This is by far the best phone I've ever had.
यह अब तक मेरे पास रहे फ़ोनों में कहीं सबसे अच्छा है।
It's one of the oldest cities in Vietnam.
यह वियतनाम के सबसे पुराने शहरों में से एक है।
5.आम गलतियाँ
He is the richest man of the world.He is the richest man in the world.
जगह → in।
Phong is the funniest person of the class.Phong is the funniest person in the class.
समूह (क्लास) → in।
Lan is the youngest in the four children.Lan is the youngest of the four children.
संख्या → of।
It's the best film I ever seen.It's the best film I've ever seen.
have + past participle चाहिए।
It was the better meal I've ever had.It was the best meal I've ever had.
Ever superlative के साथ आता है।
This is the biggest fish I've never seen.This is the biggest fish I've ever seen.
never नहीं, ever लगाएँ।
