रूप और प्रयोग
as + विशेषण + as — दो चीज़ें बराबर हैं, यह कहना
1.रूप (Form)
यह कहने के लिए कि दो चीज़ें बराबर हैं, as + विशेषण/क्रियाविशेषण + as इस्तेमाल करें। not जोड़ने पर मतलब कम हो जाता है। बीच वाला विशेषण अपने सादे रूप में रहता है (न -er, न more)।

आपको दो as चाहिए: as tall as my dad। दूसरा शब्द than या like नहीं होता।
2.इसका प्रयोग कब करें
1. दो चीज़ें बराबर हैं — “बिल्कुल एक जैसा” पर ज़ोर देने के लिए just जोड़ें
Your English is as good as mine.
आपकी English मेरी जितनी ही अच्छी है।
Hue is just as beautiful as Hoi An.
ह्वे भी होई आन जितना ही ख़ूबसूरत है।
2. कम: not as … as — less … than कहने का ज़्यादा नरम और स्वाभाविक तरीका। नकारात्मक वाक्यों में कभी-कभी not so … as भी दिखता है, उसी मतलब में।
This coffee isn't as strong as the one at home.
यह कॉफ़ी घर वाली जितनी कड़क नहीं है।
The test wasn't as difficult as I expected.
टेस्ट उतना मुश्किल नहीं था जितना मैंने सोचा था।
3. क्रियाविशेषणों के साथ: लोग काम कैसे करते हैं, इसकी तुलना
Thao sings as beautifully as her mother.
थाओ अपनी माँ जितना ही ख़ूबसूरत गाती है।
I can't run as fast as you.
मैं आपके जितना तेज़ नहीं दौड़ सकता।
4. as much / as many — मात्रा की तुलना: much + न गिनने योग्य संज्ञा, many + बहुवचन संज्ञा
I don't earn as much as my brother.
मैं अपने भाई जितना नहीं कमाता।
There aren't as many rice fields as before.
अब पहले जितने धान के खेत नहीं रहे।
5. as … as possible / as … as I can — जितना हो सके उतना
Please send me the report as soon as possible.
प्लीज़ मुझे रिपोर्ट जितनी जल्दी हो सके भेज दीजिए।
I ran as fast as I could.
मैं जितना तेज़ दौड़ सकता था, दौड़ा।
3.कितना क़रीब? just, nearly, twice…

| twice / three times / half | दोगुना, तिगुना, आधा | Our new flat is twice as big as the old one. |
तीन गुना और उससे ज़्यादा के लिए आप three times bigger than / three times more expensive than भी कह सकते हैं — यह बहुत आम है। पर दो गुना के लिए twice as … as इस्तेमाल करें (twice bigger ज़्यादातर लोगों को गलत लगता है)।
The bus ticket costs half as much as the train ticket.
बस का टिकट ट्रेन के टिकट से आधी क़ीमत का है।
The new bridge is three times as wide as the old one.
नया पुल पुराने वाले से तीन गुना चौड़ा है।
4.The same as; as me या as I am?
यह कहने के लिए कि दो चीज़ें बिल्कुल एक जैसी हैं, the same (+ संज्ञा) as इस्तेमाल करें — like नहीं।
Your phone is the same as mine.
आपका फ़ोन बिल्कुल मेरे फ़ोन जैसा है।
Hoa was born in the same year as me.
होआ उसी साल पैदा हुई थी जिस साल मैं।
दूसरे as के बाद नियम वही है जो than के बाद: me, him, her (बोलचाल) या कर्ता + सहायक क्रिया (I am, she does)। सहायक क्रिया सही काल में होनी चाहिए।
He isn't as patient as me. = He isn't as patient as I am.
उसमें मेरे जितना धैर्य नहीं है। (दोनों वाक्यों का मतलब एक ही है)
Today I'm not as busy as I was yesterday.
आज मैं उतना व्यस्त नहीं हूँ जितना कल था। (as I'm yesterday नहीं)
जो चीज़ें बिल्कुल एक जैसी हों उनके लिए the same as (My bag is the same as yours), और जो मिलती-जुलती हों उनके लिए like (She looks like her mum)। दोनों को मिलाकर “the same like” न बनाएँ।
5.आम गलतियाँ
My room is as big than yours.My room is as big as yours.
as … as, than नहीं।
This bag is as heavier as that one.This bag is as heavy as that one.
दोनों as के बीच सादा विशेषण लगाएँ।
My brother is as tall like my father.My brother is as tall as my father.
दूसरा शब्द भी as ही है।
This flat is as twice big as ours.This flat is twice as big as ours.
Twice पहले as से पहले आता है।
Nam doesn't speak English as fluent as his sister.Nam doesn't speak English as fluently as his sister.
यह क्रिया के बारे में बताता है → क्रियाविशेषण।
Your bag is the same like mine.Your bag is the same as mine.
The same के साथ as आता है।
