“as … as” 비교
초급Comparing with “as … as”
|---|---|---|
| 같음 | as + 형용사/부사 + as | My brother is as tall as my dad now. |
| 덜함 | not as + 형용사/부사 + as | Da Lat isn't as hot as Hanoi. |
| 의문문 | Is … as + 형용사 + as …? | Is Da Nang as expensive as Hanoi? |
| 명사와 함께 | as much / as many + 명사 + as | I don't have as much free time as you. |
as가 두 개 필요합니다: as tall as my dad.
Your English is as good as mine.
Hue is just as beautiful as Hoi An.
2. 덜할 때: not as … as — less … than보다 부드럽고 자연스러운 표현입니다. 부정문에서는 같은 뜻으로 not so … as를 볼 때도 있습니다.
This coffee isn't as strong as the one at home.
The test wasn't as difficult as I expected.
Thao sings as beautifully as her mother.
I can't run as fast as you.
4. as much / as many — 양을 비교할 때: much + 셀 수 없는 명사, many + 복수 명사
I don't earn as much as my brother.
There aren't as many rice fields as before.
5. as … as possible / as … as I can — 가능한 한 최대로
Please send me the report as soon as possible.
I ran as fast as I could.
3.얼마나 비슷할까? just, nearly, twice…
|---|---|---|
| just | 완전히 똑같음 | The cheap phone is just as good as the expensive one. |
| nearly / almost | 아주 비슷하지만 조금 덜함 | Mai is nearly as tall as Lan. |
| not quite | 조금 덜함 | The second film isn't quite as good as the first. |
| not nearly | 훨씬 덜함 | The flight wasn't nearly as bumpy as I feared. |
| twice / three times / half | 두 배, 세 배, 절반 | Our new flat is twice as big as the old one. |
세 배 이상부터는 three times bigger than / three times more expensive than이라고도 할 수 있고, 이 표현은 아주 흔합니다.
The bus ticket costs half as much as the train ticket.
The new bridge is three times as wide as the old one.
4.the same as; as me일까, as I am일까?
두 대상이 똑같다고 말할 때는 like가 아니라 the same (+ 명사) as를 씁니다.
Your phone is the same as mine.
Hoa was born in the same year as me.
두 번째 as 뒤는 than 뒤와 같습니다: me, him, her(말할 때)나 주어 + 조동사(I am, she does)를 씁니다.
He isn't as patient as me. = He isn't as patient as I am.
Today I'm not as busy as I was yesterday.
(as I'm yesterday는 틀림)
똑같은 것에는 the same as(My bag is the same as yours)를, 비슷한 것에는 like(She looks like her mum)를 씁니다. 둘을 섞어서 “the same like”라고 하지 마세요.
My room is as big than yours. My room is as big as yours.
than이 아니라 as … as.
This bag is as heavier as that one. This bag is as heavy as that one.
