“as … as” 比較

用 as + 形容詞/副詞 + as 表示兩者相等。加上 not 就表示不如。中間的形容詞保持原級（不加 -er，不加 more）。

💡要有兩個 as：as tall as my dad。第二個詞不是 than，也不是 like。

1. 兩者相等——加上 just 強調“完全一樣”

• Your English is as good as mine.

  你的英語和我的一樣好。

• Hue is just as beautiful as Hoi An.

  順化和會安一樣美。

2. 不如：not as … as——比 less … than 更委婉、更自然的說法。在否定句中有時還會看到 not so … as，意思相同。

• This coffee isn't as strong as the one at home.

  這咖啡沒有家裡的那麼濃。

• The test wasn't as difficult as I expected.

  考試沒有我預想的那麼難。

3. 和副詞連用：比較人們做事的方式

• Thao sings as beautifully as her mother.

  阿草唱歌和她媽媽一樣好聽。

• I can't run as fast as you.

  我跑得沒你那麼快。

4. as much / as many——比較數量：much + 不可數名詞，many + 複數名詞

• I don't earn as much as my brother.

  我掙的沒有我哥哥那麼多。

• There aren't as many rice fields as before.

  稻田沒有以前那麼多了。

5. as … as possible / as … as I can——盡最大可能

• Please send me the report as soon as possible.

  請儘快把報告發給我。

• I ran as fast as I could.

  我拼盡全力地跑。

三倍及以上時，也可以說 three times bigger than / three times more expensive than——這非常常見。但兩倍要用 twice as … as（大多數母語者覺得 twice bigger 聽起來不對）。

• The bus ticket costs half as much as the train ticket.

  公交車票的價錢是火車票的一半。

• The new bridge is three times as wide as the old one.

  新橋的寬度是舊橋的三倍。

要說兩者完全相同，用 the same (+ 名詞) as——不用 like。

• Your phone is the same as mine.

  你的手機和我的一樣。

• Hoa was born in the same year as me.

  阿花和我同一年出生。

第二個 as 後面的用法和 than 後面一樣：用 me、him、her（口語），或 主語 + 助動詞（I am、she does）。助動詞的時態必須正確。

• He isn't as patient as me. = He isn't as patient as I am.

  他沒有我那麼有耐心。（兩種說法意思相同）

• Today I'm not as busy as I was yesterday.

  今天我沒有昨天那麼忙。（不說：as I'm yesterday）

💡完全相同的東西用 the same as（My bag is the same as yours），相似的東西用 like（She looks like her mum）。不要把兩者混成 “the same like”。

• ✗My room is as big than yours.

  ✓My room is as big as yours.

  as … as，不用 than。

• ✗This bag is as heavier as that one.

  ✓This bag is as heavy as that one.

  兩個 as 中間用形容詞原級。

• ✗My brother is as tall like my father.

  ✓My brother is as tall as my father.

  第二個詞也是 as。

• ✗This flat is as twice big as ours.

  ✓This flat is twice as big as ours.

  twice 放在第一個 as 前面。

• ✗Nam doesn't speak English as fluent as his sister.

  ✓Nam doesn't speak English as fluently as his sister.

  修飾動詞 → 用副詞。

• ✗Your bag is the same like mine.

  ✓Your bag is the same as mine.

  the same 和 as 連用。
