Forma e uso
quick vs quickly, good vs well, hard vs hardly — descrivere una cosa o come si fa qualcosa
1.Aggettivo o avverbio?
|---|---|---|
| Struttura | aggettivo + sostantivo / be + aggettivo | verbo (+ oggetto) + avverbio |
| Esempio | Linh is a careful driver. | Linh drives carefully. |
| Esempio | Tuan's pronunciation is clear. | Tuan speaks clearly. |
| Esempio | This is an easy exercise. | I did the exercise easily. |

| L'aggettivo finisce in | Regola | Esempi |
|---|---|---|
| la maggior parte degli aggettivi | + ly | quick → quickly, bad → badly, careful → carefully, nice → nicely |
| consonante + y | y → ily | easy → easily, happy → happily, heavy → heavily |
| consonante + le | le → ly | terrible → terribly, gentle → gently, simple → simply |
| -ic | + ally | basic → basically, dramatic → dramatically (eccezione: public → publicly) |
It was a lovely evening.
È stata una bellissima serata. (lovely è un aggettivo)
He explained the rules in a friendly way.
