Adjective order; adjectives after look, feel
a nice new red car; you look tired, it smells good — 形容詞を置く位置
名詞の前(a new phone)と、be やその他の連結動詞の後ろ(the phone is new)です。
Minh bought a new phone last week.
His old phone was really slow.
There are two tall trees in front of my house.
| 2 | 大きさ | big, small, tall, long, huge, little |
| 3 | 新旧・年齢 | new, old, young, modern |
| 4 | 形 | round, square, flat, thin |
| 5 | 色 | red, black, white, dark green |
Vietnamese, Japanese, Italian |
We stayed in a nice old hotel in Hoi An.
She bought a small black leather bag.
Dad made a small square wooden box for my pens.
We had a delicious Italian dinner.
- 色を2つ並べるときは and でつなぎます:a black and white photo。それ以外の名詞の前の形容詞はふつう and でつなぎません:a long blue scarf(a long and blue scarf ではない)。
The hotel was cheap and comfortable.
3.look、feel、smell、sound、seem…
be、get、become、seem
You look tired. Did you sleep badly?
Something smells good in the kitchen!
Your plan sounds interesting.
The new sofa feels really soft.
It's getting dark. Let's go home.
She looks happy in this photo.
She looked carefully at the photo.
名詞にたとえるときは look like / sound like / smell like + 名詞を使います:It looks like a toy. That sounds like a good idea.
4.the first two、the next few
数と一緒に使うとき、first / next / last は数の前に置きます:the first two days、the next few weeks、the last ten minutes。
I didn't understand the first two lessons.
(the two first ではない)
It's going to rain for the next few days.
