Adjective order; adjectives after look, feel
a nice new red car; you look tired, it smells good — विशेषण कहाँ आते हैं
English में विशेषण की दो मुख्य जगहें हैं: संज्ञा से पहले (a new phone) या be और दूसरी linking verbs के बाद (the phone is new)।
Minh bought a new phone last week.
His old phone was really slow.
There are two tall trees in front of my house.
हिंदी में भी विशेषण संज्ञा से पहले आता है (“सफ़ेद कमीज़”, “बड़ा घर”), और English में भी: a white shirt, a big house — “a shirt white” नहीं।
|---|---|---|
| 1 | राय | nice, lovely, beautiful, delicious, boring |
| 2 | आकार | big, small, tall, long, huge, little |
| 3 | उम्र | new, old, young, modern |
| 4 | आकृति | round, square, flat, thin |
| 5 | रंग | red, black, white, dark green |
Vietnamese, Japanese, Italian |
We stayed in a nice old hotel in Hoi An.
She bought a small black leather bag.
Dad made a small square wooden box for my pens.
We had a delicious Italian dinner.
- दो रंग साथ हों तो उन्हें and से जोड़ते हैं: a black and white photo। संज्ञा से पहले बाकी विशेषण आमतौर पर and से नहीं जुड़ते: a long blue scarf (a long and blue scarf नहीं)।
The hotel was cheap and comfortable।
3.look, feel, smell, sound, seem…
be, get, become, seem
You look tired. Did you sleep badly?
Something smells good in the kitchen!
Your plan sounds interesting.
The new sofa feels really soft.
It's getting dark. Let's go home.
She looks happy in this photo.
She looked carefully at the photo.
किसी संज्ञा से तुलना करने के लिए look like / sound like / smell like + संज्ञा का प्रयोग करें: It looks like a toy। That sounds like a good idea।
4.the first two, the next few
संख्याओं के साथ first / next / last संख्या से पहले आते हैं: the first two days, the next few weeks, the last ten minutes।
I didn't understand the first two lessons.
(the two first नहीं)
It's going to rain for the next few days.
The last ten minutes of the film were amazing.
