This / that / these / those, one / ones
this book, those shoes, the blue one — 명사를 반복하지 않고 가까운 것과 먼 것 가리키기
1.This / that / these / those
|---|---|---|
| 단수 / 셀 수 없는 명사 | this | that |
| 복수 | these | those |
(This is heavy).
This bag is really heavy.
Look at those clouds! It's going to rain.
These are my parents.
Is that your car over there?
소리에 주의하세요: this /ðɪs/는 짧은 모음에 /s/로 끝나고, these /ðiːz/는 긴 모음에 /z/로 끝납니다. that /ðæt/과 those /ðəʊz/도 마찬가지입니다.
Mum, this is my friend Hoa.
Hello, this is Minh from the dental clinic.
2. 시간: 현재나 가까운 미래에는 this(this morning, this week), 과거의 어느 때에는 that(that day, at that time)
I'm really busy this week.
I still remember that day.
Let's order pizza. — That's a great idea!
Thanks for the lift. That was really kind of you.
3.one / ones —
I don't like the red shirt. I prefer the blue one.
These shoes are too small. Do you have any bigger ones?
Which one do you want? — That one, please.
My phone is really old. I need a new one.
- 형용사는 혼자서 명사를 대신할 수 없습니다: a new one(a new가 아님), the big ones.
- this one / that one은 아주 자주 씁니다. 복수에서는 these / those만으로 충분하지만, these ones / those ones도 말할 때, 특히 영국 영어에서 흔히 씁니다.
I prefer brown rice to white(white one이 아님).
4.one일까 it일까?
a new one / one = 같은 종류의 아무거나 하나. it / them = 앞에서 말한 바로 그 물건.
I lost my umbrella, so I bought a new one.
I lost my umbrella, but I found it the next day.

My bike is broken, so I need a new.My bike is broken, so I need a new one.
