Форма и употребление
it takes + время/усилия + to глагол — что для чего-то нужно
1.Образование
It takes + время / усилия + to + глагол говорит о том, сколько времени или сил что-то требует. It — формальное подлежащее; по временам меняется только take (take – took – taken).

Часто с it используют lose или spend. С it для нужного времени всегда используется глагол take: It took me two hours to fix the printer. Если подлежащее — человек, используй spend + -ing: I spent two hours fixing it.
2.Как это используется
1. Сколько времени нужно, чтобы что-то сделать
It takes about two hours to get from Hanoi to Hai Phong by bus.
Из Ханоя в Хайфон на автобусе ехать около двух часов.
It took me three years to learn to drive.
Я учился водить три года.
It only takes a minute to sign up.
Зарегистрироваться можно всего за минуту.
2. Вопрос о том, сколько времени: How long does / did / will it take…?
How long does it take to boil an egg? — About seven minutes.
Сколько варить яйцо? — Минут семь.
How long did it take you to get your driving licence?
Сколько времени у тебя ушло на получение водительских прав?
Краткие ответы: It takes about an hour. / Not long. / Ages! (очень долго) / It depends on the traffic.
3. Нужные усилия, качества или средства: It takes + practice / patience / courage / money…
It takes a lot of practice to play the guitar well.
Чтобы хорошо играть на гитаре, нужно много практики.
It takes courage to speak in front of a big crowd.
Чтобы выступить перед большой толпой, нужна смелость.
4. Когда время нужно кому-то или чему-то другому: for + человек / предмет + to + глагол
It took six weeks for my visa to arrive.
Моя виза шла шесть недель.
It took ages for the bus to come.
Автобус пришлось ждать целую вечность.
Подлежащим можно сделать и само занятие: The journey takes six hours. / Getting a visa took us six weeks. Подлежащим может быть и человек: She took ages to reply.
3.Take в разных временах

| Present Perfect — до настоящего момента | It has taken us three months to save half the money. |

| would — воображаемая ситуация | It would take forever to walk there. |
| Continuous — ещё продолжается | It's taking ages to download. |
Если время уже закончилось, используй Past Simple, а не Continuous: It took me five years to finish my degree.
4.Take, spend, last, need

It took me two days to paint my room. = I spent two days painting my room.
У меня ушло два дня, чтобы покрасить комнату. = Я потратил два дня на покраску комнаты.
5.Частые ошибки
It takes me thirty minutes for walking to school.It takes me thirty minutes to walk to school.
It takes + время + to + глагол.
It spends me two hours to do my homework.It takes me two hours to do my homework.
После spend подлежащим должен быть человек: I spend two hours doing…
It take me an hour to cook dinner.It takes me an hour to cook dinner.
It → takes (добавь -s).
It took to me two weeks to get over the flu.It took me two weeks to get over the flu.
Перед человеком to не нужен.
It has took me two years to save for this bike.It has taken me two years to save for this bike.
Причастие прошедшего времени от take — taken.
It needs two hours to drive from Hanoi to Ninh Binh.It takes two hours to drive from Hanoi to Ninh Binh.
С it + to + глагол используй take.
