it takes + समय/मेहनत + to क्रिया — किसी काम में क्या लगता है
1.रूप
It takes + समय / मेहनत + to + क्रिया बताता है कि किसी काम में कितना समय या मेहनत लगती है। It ख़ाली कर्ता है; सिर्फ़ take काल के अनुसार बदलता है (take – took – taken)।

सीखने वाले अक्सर it के साथ lose या spend लगा देते हैं। It के साथ “समय लगना” के लिए क्रिया हमेशा take होती है: It took me two hours to fix the printer। जब कर्ता कोई व्यक्ति हो, तब spend + -ing लगाएँ: I spent two hours fixing it।
2.इसका प्रयोग कैसे होता है
1. कोई काम करने में लगने वाला समय
It takes about two hours to get from Hanoi to Hai Phong by bus.
बस से हनोई से हाई फ़ोंग पहुँचने में लगभग दो घंटे लगते हैं।
It took me three years to learn to drive.
मुझे गाड़ी चलाना सीखने में तीन साल लग गए।
It only takes a minute to sign up.
साइन अप करने में बस एक मिनट लगता है।
2. कितना समय लगता है, यह पूछना: How long does / did / will it take…?
How long does it take to boil an egg? — About seven minutes.
अंडा उबालने में कितना समय लगता है? — लगभग सात मिनट।
How long did it take you to get your driving licence?
आपको ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस मिलने में कितना समय लगा?
छोटे उत्तर: It takes about an hour. / Not long. / Ages! (बहुत ज़्यादा समय) / It depends on the traffic.
3. ज़रूरी मेहनत, गुण या चीज़ें: It takes + practice / patience / courage / money…
It takes a lot of practice to play the guitar well.
गिटार अच्छा बजाने के लिए बहुत अभ्यास करना पड़ता है।
It takes courage to speak in front of a big crowd.
बड़ी भीड़ के सामने बोलने के लिए हिम्मत चाहिए।
4. जब समय किसी और व्यक्ति या चीज़ को लगे: for + व्यक्ति / चीज़ + to + क्रिया
It took six weeks for my visa to arrive.
मेरा वीज़ा आने में छह हफ़्ते लगे।
It took ages for the bus to come.
बस आने में बहुत देर लगी।
आप काम को भी कर्ता बना सकते हैं: The journey takes six hours. / Getting a visa took us six weeks. कोई व्यक्ति भी कर्ता हो सकता है: She took ages to reply.
3.अलग-अलग कालों में take

जब समय बीत चुका हो, तब continuous नहीं, past simple लगाएँ: It took me five years to finish my degree।
4.Take, spend, last, need

अपना कमरा पेंट करने में मुझे दो दिन लगे। = मैंने अपना कमरा पेंट करने में दो दिन लगाए।
5.आम गलतियाँ

Spend के लिए कर्ता कोई व्यक्ति चाहिए: I spend two hours doing…

It → takes (-s जोड़ें)।

व्यक्ति से पहले to नहीं आता।

take का past participle taken है।

it + to + क्रिया के साथ take लगाएँ।
