The thing is…, What I mean is…, It's worth -ing —

The thing is…, What I mean is…, It's worth…

The thing is, … / The problem is, …
The point is, …
What I mean is, … / What I'm saying is, …
I was wondering if …उपवाक्य (could / would…)
It's (not) worth …-ing /
There's no point (in) … / It's no use …-ing
It's time …to + क्रिया / for + व्यक्ति + to + क्रिया / past वाला उपवाक्यकहना कि कुछ अभी हो जाना चाहिए

1. The thing is… / The problem is…

  • I'd love to come. The thing is, I don't have a car.

  • The problem is, nobody knows the password.

2. The point is…

  • I know it's expensive, but the point is, it will last for years.

3. What I mean is… / What I'm trying to say is…

  • I didn't say it was bad. What I mean is, it could be shorter.

  • What I'm trying to say is, we need more time.

4. It's not that… It's just that…

  • It's not that I don't like your cooking. It's just that I'm not very hungry.

5. I was wondering if…

  • I was wondering if you could help me with my CV.

  • I was wondering if you'd like to join us for dinner.

ढाँचे को एक साथ, बिना अटके बोलें, फिर मुख्य बात से पहले थोड़ा रुकें: “The thing is, | I don't have a car.”

To + क्रिया नहीं। The film is worth watching (worth watching it नहीं)। छोटा रूप: It's worth it।
  • There's no point (in) + -ing / It's no use + -ing = इससे कोई फ़ायदा नहीं होगा। There's no point arguing।
  • can't / couldn't help + -ing = ख़ुद को रोक न पाना। आप can't help but + मूल रूप भी कह सकते हैं (I couldn't help but laugh),
I look forward to… औपचारिक है (ईमेल में); I'm looking forward to…
  • It's worth trying the street food here.

(worth to try नहीं)

  • There's no point in calling her now. She's asleep.

  • When he fell off his chair, I couldn't help laughing.

  • I'm really looking forward to seeing you at the weekend.

  • can't wait + to + क्रिया = बहुत उत्साहित होना: I can't wait to see my family। (look forward to + -ing से तुलना करें।)
  • It's time + to + क्रिया = अब सही समय है; It's time for + व्यक्ति + to + क्रिया; It's (about / high) time + कर्ता + past क्रिया = यह तो पहले ही हो जाना चाहिए था — क्रिया रूप में past है लेकिन अर्थ में present।
I'd rather not talk about it।
  • It turns out (that) + उपवाक्य = आपको कोई हैरान करने वाली बात पता चली; No wonder + उपवाक्य = तभी तो ऐसा है।
  • Tet is next week, and I can't wait to see my family.

  • It's late. It's time to go home.

  • It's about time you told her the truth.

  • You didn't sleep last night? No wonder you're tired.

  • To be honest, … To be honest, I didn't enjoy the film।
  • If you ask me, … / The way I see it, … If you ask me, it's too expensive।
  • Having said that, … / On the other hand, … The flat is small. Having said that, it's in a great area।
  • By the way, … By the way, did you get my message?
  • At the end of the day, … At the end of the day, your health is what matters।
  • I'm afraid (that) … / I'm afraid so / I'm afraid not — विनम्रता से बुरी ख़बर देना: I'm afraid I can't come।

As far as I concern। As far as I'm concerned, …
