构成与用法
a/an 指众多中的一个或新出现的事物，the 指双方都已知道的那个
1.A 还是 an？
a / an 的意思是“一个”。只用在单数可数名词前面（a book, an egg）。用 a 还是 an，要看后面那个词的第一个音，而不是第一个字母。

如果名词前有形容词，就看形容词的第一个音：an old bike，但 a big apple。
She's an honest person.
她是个诚实的人。（h 不发音 → an）
It's a useful app.
这是个很有用的应用。（useful 以 /j/ 开头 → a）
I'll be back in an hour.
我一小时后回来。
中文没有冠词，说“我妈妈是老师”“我有摩托车”就够了。但英语里，单数可数名词前面几乎总要有 a/an/the/my…：My mum is a teacher. I have a motorbike.
2.什么时候用 a / an
1. 第一次提到某物，或者指许多中的任意一个——听的人不知道是哪一个
I saw a really funny video yesterday.
我昨天看了一个特别搞笑的视频。
Is there a pharmacy near here?
这附近有药店吗？
2. 说明某人或某物是什么——职业、某一类人或物
My sister is a nurse.
我姐姐是护士。（不说：My sister is nurse）
It's a beautiful day.
今天天气真好。
3. 表示“每”——频率、价格、速度
I go swimming twice a week.
我每周游两次泳。
Mangoes are 40,000 dong a kilo.
芒果四万越南盾一公斤。
3.什么时候用 the
1. 听的人知道是哪一个，因为你前面已经提到过
I ordered a pizza and a salad. The pizza was cold.
我点了一个披萨和一份沙拉。披萨是凉的。
We stayed at a small hotel. The owner was really friendly.
我们住在一家小旅馆。旅馆老板特别友好。
2. 从情境就能看出是哪一个——比如在你家、你的教室或你住的城市里
Can you close the window, please?
请把窗户关上好吗？
Excuse me, where's the bathroom?
打扰一下，洗手间在哪里？
3. 独一无二的事物：the sun, the moon, the sky, the sea, the internet
The sun is very strong today.
今天太阳很晒。
I found the recipe on the internet.
我在网上找到了这个食谱。
4. 名词后面有短语说明是哪一个
Who's the girl in the red dress?
穿红裙子的那个女孩是谁？
The book you lent me is great.
你借给我的那本书很好看。
发音：the 在辅音音素前通常读 /ðə/（the book），在元音音素前常读 /ði/（the apple）。
4.a / an 和 the 的区别
同一个名词，冠词不同，意思就不同：a = 任意一个，the = 双方都知道的那一个。
Can I borrow a pen?
能借我一支笔吗？（随便哪支都行）
Can I borrow the pen on your desk?
能借一下你桌上那支笔吗？（特定的那支笔）
I need a taxi.
我需要叫一辆出租车。（还没有具体是哪一辆）
The taxi is here.
出租车到了。（我们叫的那辆）
记住：复数名词和不可数名词前不用 a/an（不说 a books, a water）——见“可数名词与不可数名词”一课。泛指一整类事物时，通常不用冠词：I love cats.——见“什么时候用 the（什么时候不用）”一课。
5.常见错误
My father is engineer.My father is an engineer.
说职业要用 a/an。

umbrella 以元音音素开头 → 用 an。

university 以 /j/ 开头，是辅音音素 → 用 a。

第二次提到 → 用 the。

天空只有一个 → 用 the。

复数名词前不用 a。

- Look! The moon is very bright tonight.
- I eat an apple every morning.
- My brother is a university student in Hue.
