Still / any more / yet / already / even

still waiting, not any more, not yet, already done, even on Sundays——时间与意外

not … any more / any longer已经停止了否定句句末

2.Still 和 not … any more

Still = 某种情况仍在继续,没有改变(“还、仍然”)。它像频率副词一样放在句子中间:普通动词前面,be 后面,助动词后面。

  • It's 10 a.m. and Minh is still in bed!

  • My grandpa is 80, but he still works in his garden every day.

  • Are you still hungry?

Not … any more(或 not … any longer)= 以前是这样,现在不是了(“不再”)。 可以写成 any more 或 anymore(anymore 在美式英语中更常见)。

  • Lan doesn't live in Hue any more. She moved to Hanoi.

  • Nam no longer works at the bank.

  • Ha used to smoke, but she doesn't smoke anymore.

  • The test was easy, but I still made mistakes.

  • I haven't finished my homework yet.

  • Have you read the report yet?

  • Don't cook for me. I've already eaten.

  • Have you finished already? That was quick!

  • Did you eat yet?

Have you eaten yet?)

  • He hasn't answered yet.

  • I texted Minh on Monday and he still hasn't answered.

  • Is your sister still at university? — Yes, she hasn't graduated yet.

记住:not … yet = 还没发生,但你预期会发生;still … not = 早就该发生了。

4.Even

  • Everyone loves this song. Even my grandma sings it!

  • Hoa works every day, even on Sundays.

  • Tuan loves languages. He even speaks a little Korean.

Not even / can't even / didn't even

  • He was so rude. He didn't even look at me.

  • I'm so tired I can't even think.

在从句(主语 + 动词)前面,要用 even though / even if,不能单用 even——见“Although / though / despite”一课。

  • Today is hot, but tomorrow will be even hotter.

  • Even though it was raining, we went to the beach.

Even it was raining)

  • I don't work there no more.

I don't work there any more. / I no longer work there.

  • She still not knows the answer.

She still doesn't know the answer.

    否定句里 still 也需要 doesn't;still 放在它前面。

  • Don't worry, I have yet sent the email.

Don't worry, I have already sent the email.

    肯定句 → already。

  • I haven't eaten breakfast already.

    I haven't eaten breakfast yet.

    否定句 → yet。

  • She doesn't still live with her parents. She moved out in May.

She doesn't live with her parents any more. She moved out in May.

    表示某事已经停止 → not … any more。

  • Even it was raining, we went out.

Even though it was raining, we went out.

从句前用 even though / even if。

例句

  • It's 10 a.m. and Minh is still in bed!
  • I haven't finished my homework yet.
  • We've already bought the tickets, so don't worry.
  • Lan doesn't live in Hue any more. She moved to Hanoi last year.
