5
So today, I'm going to talk about the zoo.
6
This is a topic that I really like because I've always liked going to the zoo.
7
I'm from San Diego, which has one of the best zoos in the world.
8
The San San Diego Zoo is famous for its animals and exhibits.
9
I have many great memories from this zoo,
10
and I hope that I get to go again soon.
11
Let's talk about the different animals that you can find at a big zoo like the San Diego Zoo.
12
Let's start with the most famous animal at the zoo, the panda bear.
13
This animal is many people's favorite animal, including my wife's.
14
Honestly, I don't know why so many people love pandas,
15
because they seem pretty boring to me.
16
But I think people just find them cute and funny.
17
They're also popular because only certain zoos are allowed to have them.
18
Most zoos around the world don't have any pandas, actually.
19
So that's another reason why the San Diego Zoo is really famous.
20
However, I like other types of bears more.
21
When I was in college,
22
I took an animal biology class,
23
and for one of my projects,
24
I studied the sun bear.
25
This is one of my favorite animals,
26
because it's a really unique type of bear.
27
It's smaller than other bears,
28
and it spends a lot of its time climbing trees,
29
which I think is pretty cool.
30
Alright, moving on to safari animals,
31
there are elephants, lions, rhinoceroses,
32
giraffes, and a lot of other species.
33
These exhibits are some of the most popular ones at many zoos because these animals are so iconic.
34
Children love watching movies and reading books about the wild animals in Africa,
35
so of course they want to see them in real life too.
36
I've always liked the big cat animals such as lions,
37
but honestly they don't do much.
38
When you see them at the zoo,
39
they're always just lying down or sleeping.
40
The elephants are usually more active,
41
and it's always fun to watch them swing their trunks around.
42
Other popular attractions at the zoo are the monkeys,
43
gorillas, and those types of animals.
44
There are usually some different types of small monkeys that are really energetic and playful.
45
You can always see them swinging from tree to tree and playing with each other.
46
The gorillas, on the other hand, are usually calmer.
47
But sometimes, they get really close to the glass and look right at you.
48
It's actually kind of scary,
49
because it feels like they can reach out and grab you.
50
One other exhibit that's usually pretty popular is the Arctic exhibit.
51
This is where they have the polar bears.
52
This exhibit is way different from the other exhibit,
53
because it's a completely different climate.
54
It's ice, rocks, and cold water.
55
Some zoos also have penguins as well,
56
which are some of the funnest animals to watch.
57
They constantly jump in and out of the water,
58
and you get to see the cool way that they swim.
59
Penguins are definitely some of my favorite animals.
60
Alright, that's all for today.
61
Leave a comment down below and tell me what your favorite animal is.
62
I'll see you next time.
