On time / in time, at the end / in the end
on time = 늦지 않게, in time = 늦기 전에; at the end of = ~의 끝에, in the end = 결국
1.On time과 in time
The train left on time, at 8:00 exactly.

자주 쓰는 패턴은 두 가지입니다: in time for + 명사와 in time to + 동사원형.
We got to the cinema in time for the start of the film.
Will the package arrive in time for Tet?

| on time | in time | |
|---|---|---|
| 반대말 | late | too late |
| 자주 쓰는 패턴 | be / start / arrive / leave on time | in time for + noun · in time to + verb |
| 강조 | right on time (정해진 시간에 정확히) | just in time (아슬아슬하게 늦지 않게) |
를 묻는 거라면 → on time. 를 묻는 거라면 → in time.
2.Just in time, in good time, in time = 결국
- just in time = 아슬아슬하게 늦지 않게.
- in good time(주로 영국 영어) = 일찍, 시간 여유를 두고.
- 이 뜻으로 쓸 때는 둘 다 관사를 붙이지 않습니다: “on the time”이나 “in the time”이 아닙니다.
The ambulance arrived just in time.
We left early and got to the airport in good time.

3.At the end와 in the end
at the end (of something) = 어떤 기간, 행사, 장소의 마지막 부분에. 보통 of와 함께 씁니다: at the end of the month / the film / the class / the street.
We pay the rent at the end of the month.
Everyone cried at the end of the film.
Our house is at the end of the street.
(장소: 이때도 at the end of)
I'll answer your questions at the end.
We couldn't decide where to go, so in the end we stayed at home.

He said he wasn't coming, but he came in the end.
뒤에 of가 오면 거의 확실히 at입니다: at the end of the film이라고 하고, “in the end of the film”이라고 하지 않습니다.
4.Beginning, end, at last, finally

| at the end of the day | (관용구) 모든 것을 고려해 보면, 결국 | At the end of the day, it's your choice. |
In the beginning은 at first처럼 “처음에는 이랬는데 나중에 바뀌었다”는 것을 강조합니다. At the beginning of + 특정한 시간이나 대상은 단순히 그 처음 부분을 뜻합니다.
