Lezione 93 · Tappa 8: Aggettivi, avverbi e preposizioni
IntermedioWord order: verb + object, place, time; frequency adverbs
Forma e uso
I like coffee very much; we went to Hue last year; she always / often / never…
1.Verbo + oggetto restano uniti
| Soggetto | Verbo | Oggetto | Altro |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | like | coffee | very much. |
| Mai | plays | the piano | very well. |
| We | watched | a film | last night. |
| Did you | lock | the door | this morning? |
I like coffee very much.
Mi piace molto il caffè. (non: I like very much coffee)
She speaks English very well.
Parla molto bene l'inglese. (non: speaks very well English)
I read the news every morning.
Leggo le notizie ogni mattina.
In italiano diciamo “mi piace molto il caffè”, ma in inglese very non va prima di un verbo: “I very like it” è sbagliato. Di' I really like it, I like it very much oppure I love it.
| Soggetto | Verbo (+ oggetto) | Luogo | Tempo |
|---|---|---|---|
| We | went | to Hue | last year. |
| My mum | walks | to work | every morning. |
| They | took the kids | to the zoo | on Sunday. |
| I've | lived | in this flat | for three years. |
We went to Da Nang last summer.
L'estate scorsa siamo andati a Da Nang. (luogo → tempo)
My family moved to Hanoi in 2018.
Last year, we went to Hue.
L'anno scorso siamo andati a Hue.
She sang beautifully at the party last night.
Puoi mettere il tempo all'inizio della frase, come facciamo spesso in italiano. Ma di norma non metterlo tra il verbo e l'oggetto o il luogo: di' I went to Hue last year, non “I went last year to Hue”.
3.Gli avverbi in mezzo alla frase
Alcuni avverbi brevi di solito stanno in mezzo alla frase, vicino al verbo: gli avverbi di frequenza (always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never) e anche also, already, still, just, even, probably, really. La posizione dipende dal verbo:
| Il verbo | Dove va l'avverbio | Esempio |
|---|---|---|
| Un verbo normale | prima del verbo | My mum always walks to work. |
| be (am / is / are / was / were) | dopo be | Minh is always at the gym on Mondays. |
| Ausiliare o modale + verbo | dopo il primo ausiliare | We have already eaten. / I can never find my keys. |
| Negativa con don't / doesn't / didn't | dopo don't / doesn't / didn't | I don't usually eat breakfast. |
- Prima di have to: I always have to get up early.
- Sometimes e usually possono anche aprire la frase: Sometimes I work from home.
- All e both seguono la stessa regola: We all love pho. My sisters are both nurses.
- Nelle domande l'avverbio va dopo il soggetto: Do you often cook? Have you ever been to Sa Pa?
Lan often drinks green tea in the afternoon.
Il pomeriggio Lan beve spesso tè verde.
My brother is never on time.
Mio fratello non è mai puntuale.
I speak English, and I can also speak a little French.
We have already booked the tickets.
Abbiamo già prenotato i biglietti.
My sisters are both nurses.
Never è già negativo, quindi va con un verbo affermativo: I never eat meat, non “I don't never eat”.
4.Errori comuni
I very like this song.I really like this song. / I like this song very much.
very non va prima di un verbo.

Il verbo e l'oggetto restano uniti.

Prima l'oggetto, poi il tempo.
