| 일반적 — the 없음 | 특정 — the 있음 |
|---|---|
| Children need a lot of sleep. | The children are asleep upstairs. |
| I can't work without music. | I don't like the music in this café. |
| Sugar is bad for your teeth. | Could you pass the sugar, please? |
| Dogs are friendly animals. | The dogs next door bark all night. |
| Rice is cheap here. | The rice we bought yesterday is very good. |
I like working with people who are honest.
I really like the people I work with.

- all + 명사 = 일반적으로 모두, all the + 명사 = 특정한 무리의 전부: All plants need water. / All the plants in my garden died.
I'm afraid of dogs(개라는 동물 전반). the dogs가 아닙니다.

미국 사람들은 환자인 경우에도 보통 in the hospital / to the hospital이라고 하고, 대학에서 공부하는 것은 흔히 college로 말합니다: She's in college.
