like = เหมือน, as = ในฐานะ: she works as a nurse; she sings like a bird
1.รูปประโยค
Like กับ as สับสนกันง่าย แต่ความหมายต่างกันและตามด้วยคำต่างกัน คำถามสำคัญคือ: คนหรือสิ่งนั้นแค่คล้าย หรือมีบทบาทนั้นจริง ๆ

2.Like = เหมือน
1. Like + คำนาม / คำสรรพนาม: เหมือน คล้าย แบบเดียวกับ
Your bag is just like mine.
กระเป๋าของคุณเหมือนของฉันเป๊ะเลย
My little brother eats like a horse.
น้องชายฉันกินจุเหมือนม้า (สำนวน = กินเยอะมาก)
Speaking English is like riding a bike — the more you practise, the easier it gets.

2. look / sound / feel / taste / smell + like + คำนาม
Minh looks like his mum — same eyes, same smile.

3. ขอให้บรรยาย: What is … like? / What does … look like?
What's your new boss like? — She's friendly but very strict.

What does your brother look like? — Tall, with short hair.

4. Like = เช่น (ใกล้เคียงกับ such as)
I love tropical fruit, like mango and papaya.

3.As = ในฐานะ
As + คำนาม บอกว่าคนหรือสิ่งนั้นมีอาชีพ บทบาท หรือหน้าที่นั้นจริง ๆ พบบ่อยใน work as, use … as, be known as, see / describe … as และ as a child (= ตอนฉันเป็นเด็ก)
Lan works as a tour guide in Hoi An.

4.As + อนุประโยค, like + อนุประโยค
As (คำสันธาน) + อนุประโยค = “ตามที่ / อย่างที่” วลีตายตัวหลายวลีใช้ as:
- as you know, as I said, as you can see
- as usual / as always, as expected, as we agreed
- the same as, such as
As you know, the meeting has moved to Thursday.
อย่างที่คุณรู้ การประชุมเลื่อนไปวันพฤหัสแล้ว
As usual, Nam forgot his keys.
