1.大多數名稱不加 the
人名、城市、大多數國家、大洲、省 / 州、單個島嶼、單座山峰和湖泊的名稱，通常不加 the。

2.要加 the 的名稱

注意：the north of Vietnam，但 northern Vietnam（不加 the）。名稱裡本身帶方位詞的，比如 North America, South Korea, Southeast Asia，也不加 the。
快速判斷：名稱裡含有 States、Kingdom、Republic、Islands 這類普通名詞，或者名稱是複數形式 → 加 the。所以要說 the USA / the United States，但 America 不加 the。
3.街道、機場、大學
大多數街道、廣場和公園不加 the。由地名或人名 + 名詞構成的名稱（機場、車站、市場、大學、城堡）通常也不加 the。
Our hotel is on Hang Bai Street.
我們的酒店在杭排街上。
The flight lands at Noi Bai Airport at nine.
航班九點降落內排機場。
My sister studies at Hue University.
我妹妹在順化大學讀書。
We bought some souvenirs at Ben Thanh Market.

4.酒店、博物館、帶 of 的名稱
大多數酒店、博物館、劇院、電影院和著名建築要加 the。帶 of 的名稱幾乎總是加 the。

不加 the 的有：以人名 + 's / -s 命名的商店、餐館和銀行（McDonald's, Joe's Café, Barclays），以聖人命名的教堂（St Joseph's Cathedral），公司、航空公司和品牌（Vietnam Airlines, Samsung, Google），以及當作一個單詞來讀的縮寫（ASEAN, NATO, UNESCO）。
同一個地方可以有兩種名稱：Hue University（地名在前 → 不加 the）= the University of Hue（帶 of → 加 the）。
