الأسئلة غير المباشرة

السؤال غير المباشر سؤال داخل جملة أخرى (Do you know…?, Could you tell me…?, I wonder…). ويستخدم السؤال الداخلي ترتيب الجملة الخبرية: أداة الاستفهام + الفاعل + الفعل، وتختفي do / does / did.

💡عندما تختفي does / did ينتقل زمنها إلى الفعل الرئيسي: What time does it open? → … what time it opens. Why did she leave? → … why she left.

1. السؤال بأدب، خاصة مع الغرباء أو الزبائن أو المدير — ألطف من السؤال المباشر

• Excuse me, do you know where the nearest ATM is?

  عفوًا، هل تعرف أين أقرب صرّاف آلي؟

• Could you tell me how far it is to the airport?

  هل يمكنك أن تخبرني كم يبعد المطار؟

• Would you mind telling me what you think of the plan?

  هل تمانع أن تخبرني برأيك في الخطة؟

2. التعبير عمّا تتساءل عنه أو لا تعرفه — هذه جمل خبرية، لذا تنتهي بنقطة

• I wonder what she wants for her birthday.

  أتساءل ماذا تريد في عيد ميلادها.

• I have no idea where he went last night.

  ليست لديّ أي فكرة إلى أين ذهب الليلة الماضية.

• I can't remember where I parked the car.

  لا أتذكر أين ركنت السيارة.

• بدايات على شكل سؤال (?): Do you know…? / Could you tell me…? / Can you tell me…? / Do you have any idea…? / Would you mind telling me…? / Can you remember…?
• بدايات على شكل جملة خبرية (.): I wonder… / I don't know… / I'm not sure… / I have no idea… / I'd like to know… / I can't remember…
• علامة الترقيم في النهاية تتبع الجملة الخارجية، لا السؤال الداخلي.

ليس لسؤال yes/no أداة استفهام، لذا أضف if أو whether. ومعناهما واحد؛ وwhether أكثر رسمية بقليل، وكثيرًا ما تأتي معها or not.

• Do you know if the restaurant is open today?

  هل تعرف إن كان المطعم مفتوحًا اليوم؟

• I'm not sure whether it will rain or not.

  لست متأكدًا إن كانت ستمطر أم لا.

• It depends on whether we have enough time.

  يتوقف ذلك على ما إذا كان لدينا وقت كافٍ. (بعد حرف الجر: whether فقط)

• I can't decide whether to buy it.

  لا أستطيع أن أقرر هل أشتريه أم لا. (قبل to + فعل: whether فقط)

إذا كانت who / what / which هي الفاعل، فالسؤال المباشر يأتي أصلًا بترتيب الجملة الخبرية (بلا do/did)، لذا لا يتغيّر شيء في السؤال غير المباشر. انظر أيضًا درس «السؤال عن الفاعل والسؤال عن المفعول».

• Who broke the window? → Do you know who broke the window?

  من كسر النافذة؟ → هل تعرف من كسر النافذة؟

• What happened? → Can you tell me what happened?

  ماذا حدث؟ → هل يمكنك أن تخبرني بما حدث؟

لكن مع be + اسم تنتقل be إلى آخر الجملة: Who is that man? → Do you know who that man is? (وليس: who is that man).

💡الأسئلة غير المباشرة لا يرجع فيها الزمن، لأنك تسأل الآن: Do you know where she lives? ولا ترجع الزمن إلا عند نقل سؤال شخص آخر: She asked me where I lived — انظر درس «الكلام المنقول».

• ✗Do you know where is the post office?

  ✓Do you know where the post office is?

  السؤال الداخلي يستخدم ترتيب الجملة الخبرية: الفاعل + الفعل.

• ✗I wonder what does she want for her birthday.

  ✓I wonder what she wants for her birthday.

  احذف does وأضف -s إلى الفعل الرئيسي.

• ✗Can you tell me does this bus go to Ben Thanh Market?

  ✓Can you tell me if this bus goes to Ben Thanh Market?

  سؤال yes/no → if/whether + جملة خبرية.

• ✗Do you know how old is your grandfather?

  ✓Do you know how old your grandfather is?

  How old + الفاعل + be.

• ✗Could you tell me where did you buy that jacket?

  ✓Could you tell me where you bought that jacket?

  احذف did وضع الفعل الرئيسي في الماضي.

• ✗I don't know where she's going?

  ✓I don't know where she's going.

  الجملة الخارجية خبرية، لذا تنتهي بنقطة.
