in the box, on the wall, at the door, next to, between, opposite — لقول أين يوجد الشيء
1.In و on و at — ثلاث أفكار أساسية

الترجمة الحرفية من لغتك كثيرًا ما تعطي حرف جر خاطئًا: الطائر in the sky لا on، والراكب on the bus لا in — مع أننا نقول بالعربية «في الحافلة». تعلّم العبارات كاملة، فهذا أسرع وأضمن.

أن تكون في بيتك هو at home — بلا the، وليس in home. والذهاب إليه هو go home؛ انظر درس «حروف الجر للحركة: to / at / in / into».
3.In أم at: المدن والمباني
المدن والبلدان → دائمًا in: in Hue, in Japan. ومع المباني (مدرسة، بنك، سينما، محطة، فندق) نستخدم عادةً at لنقول إنك هناك لغرض ما، وin للتأكيد على أنك داخل المبنى. وبيت شخص ما: at Lan's (house)، at my grandma's.
I'm at the bank. I'll call you back.
أنا في البنك. سأعاود الاتصال بك.
It's really cold in the cinema, so bring a jacket.
الجو بارد جدًا داخل السينما، فأحضر سترة. (تأكيد على الداخل)
We stayed at a small hotel in Hoi An.
أقمنا في فندق صغير في هوي آن.
We had dinner at my grandma's.
تناولنا العشاء عند جدتي. (at + اسم شخص's = في بيته)
4.حروف جر أخرى للمكان

تجلس هوا بجانبي في الصف.
The post office is between the bank and the police station.
مكتب البريد بين البنك ومركز الشرطة.
There's a pharmacy opposite my house, across the road.
هناك صيدلية مقابل بيتي، على الجهة الأخرى من الطريق.
A tall man was standing in front of me, so I couldn't see.
كان رجل طويل واقفًا أمامي، فلم أستطع الرؤية.
لا تخلط بين in front of وopposite. شجرة المانجو التي أمام بيتك مباشرةً، على الجهة نفسها من الطريق، هي in front of your house. أما البيت الذي على الجهة الأخرى من الطريق ويواجه بيتك فهو opposite بيتك. وتذكّر أيضًا: opposite تأتي عادةً قبل الاسم مباشرة؛ وnext to تحتاج إلى to؛ وin front of تحتاج إلى of.
5.أخطاء شائعة
My parents live at Vietnam.My parents live in Vietnam.
البلدان والمدن → in.
There's some water in the floor.There's some water on the floor.
الأرضية سطح → on.
He's in home today.He's at home today.
أن تكون في بيتك = at home.
We had fun in Minh's birthday party.We had fun at Minh's birthday party.
المناسبات (الحفلات، الاجتماعات، الحفلات الموسيقية) → at.
The bank is next the post office.The bank is next to the post office.
next to تحتاج إلى to.
The shop is between the bank with the café.The shop is between the bank and the café.
التركيب الصحيح: between A and B.
