מטרה: in order to / so that
Purpose: in order to / so that
in order to, so as to, so that + can/will — כיצד מסבירים למה מישהו עושה משהו.
|---|---|---|
| to | base form | I went out to buy some bread. |
| in order to | base form | She moved to Hanoi in order to find work. |
| so as to | base form | We left early so as to avoid the traffic. |
| in order not to / so as not to | base form | I wrote it down so as not to forget. |
| so that | subject + can / will / could / would… | I'll text you so that you know where we are. |
| for | noun | We stopped for coffee. |
(I came here for learn English). יש להשתמש ב-to / in order to עם פועל: I came here to learn English. I came here for the course.
2.To, in order to, so as to
I called the shop to check if they had my size.
Why are you learning English? — To get a better job.
2. In order to / so as to — מדגישים את המטרה, רשמי יותר. נפוץ בכתיבה, מיילים בעבודה ומצגות; so as to אפילו רשמי יותר.
Minh moved to Hanoi in order to find work.
Staff must wear gloves so as to protect their hands.
3. שלילה: in order not to / so as not to + פועל — not בא לפני to.
I set two alarms in order not to miss my flight.
She whispered so as not to wake her parents.
(I left early not to miss the bus). עדיף לומר so as not to, in order not to, או so that … won't / wouldn't.
3.So that + משפט
מטרה בהווה או בעתיד → can, will (או הווה פשוט); מטרה בעבר → could, would.
I'll send you a map so that you can find the house easily.

כדי לציין שמישהו או משהו חייב לבצע את הפעולה, השתמשו ב-in order for + אדם / דבר + to + פועל (רשמי): In order for the plan to work, כולם צריכים לעזור.
4.To או for?
