Lição 63 · Etapa 5: Voz passiva, discurso indireto e perguntas
Voz passiva com “get”
IntermédioPassive with “get”
Forma e uso
get + V3 — got fired, get paid: algo acontece com alguém
1.Forma
Na fala, você pode usar get + V3 em vez de be + V3. Get é um verbo comum, então muda como qualquer outro verbo: get / gets / got, e a negativa e a pergunta precisam de do / does / did.
| get + V3 | be + V3 | |
|---|---|---|
| Afirmativa | He got fired. | He was fired. |
| Negativa | He didn't get fired. | He wasn't fired. |
| Pergunta | Did he get fired? | Was he fired? |
| Presente simples | We get paid on Fridays. | We are paid on Fridays. |
| Presente contínuo | The bridge is getting repaired. | The bridge is being repaired. |
| Futuro | You'll get hurt. | You'll be hurt. |
| Present perfect | She's got promoted. / She's gotten promoted. (AmE) | She's been promoted. |
| Depois de to / -ing | I don't want to get caught. / Nobody likes getting ignored. | I don't want to be caught. / Nobody likes being ignored. |
Não use be e get juntos: “I was got hurt” está errado. Escolha um dos dois: I got hurt ou I was hurt.
2.Quando usar
My phone got damaged in the rain.
Meu celular estragou com a chuva.
Be careful with that knife, or you'll get hurt.
Our neighbours got robbed last weekend.
Lan got promoted last month.
A Lan foi promovida no mês passado.
Do you get paid every month or every week?
Você recebe por mês ou por semana?
I got invited to Mai's party tonight.
My wallet got stolen at the market.
Roubaram minha carteira na feira. (falado, contando para um amigo)
Several items were stolen from the building.
Vários objetos foram roubados do prédio. (notícia — formal)
Get + V3 não serve só para notícias ruins: get fired e get fined são desagradáveis, mas get paid, get promoted e get invited são coisas boas.
3.Get ou be?
- Get serve só para ações e mudanças — não para estados: This house is owned by my aunt (não: gets owned).
- Get muitas vezes sugere algo inesperado, ou algo que o próprio sujeito ajudou a causar: He got caught cheating in the exam.
- Para informações formais, factuais ou oficiais, be soa mais natural: The museum was built in the 19th century.
If you park here, you'll get fined.
Se você estacionar aqui, vai levar multa.
Visitors who park here will be fined.
Os visitantes que estacionarem aqui serão multados. (placa — formal)
Two people got injured in the crash.
Duas pessoas se feriram no acidente.
4.Não confunda com get + adjetivo e get something done
- get + adjetivo = ficar, tornar-se: get tired, get angry, get cold, get better. Alguns V3 funcionam como adjetivos em expressões fixas: get married, get dressed, get lost, get bored, get worried, get changed.
- get + coisa + V3 = outra pessoa faz isso para você: I got my car washed — veja a lição “Have something done”.
They got married in Da Nang last year.
I got lost on my way to the hotel.
Eu me perdi no caminho para o hotel.
I got cut on some broken glass. / I got my hair cut.
Eu me cortei num caco de vidro. / Cortei o cabelo (no cabeleireiro). (get + V3 × get + coisa + V3)
5.Erros comuns
He got fire because he was always late.He got fired because he was always late.
Use o V3 depois de get.

Não use be e get juntos.

A voz passiva usa o V3, e não -ing.
Did you got paid yesterday?Did you get paid yesterday?
Depois de did, use a forma base get.
I wasn't get invited.I didn't get invited. / I wasn't invited.
Get é um verbo comum, então a negativa usa didn't.
This house gets owned by my aunt. This house is owned by my aunt.
Own é um estado, não uma ação — use be, e não get.
