กริยา + คน + to-infinitive

ถ้าจะบอกว่าอยากให้คนอื่นทำอะไร (want, ask, tell, advise…) ใช้ กริยา + กรรม (คน) + to + กริยา คนต้องอยู่ในรูปกรรม: me, you, him, her, us, them หรือชื่อคน

💡ภาษาไทยพูดว่า “อยากให้คุณมา” ผู้เรียนจึงมักพูดว่า “I want that you come” หรือ “I want you come” ภาษาอังกฤษต้องมีครบสามส่วน: want + you + to come และคนต้องอยู่ในรูปกรรม: want him (ไม่ใช่ he) to come

1. อยาก คาดหวัง ต้องการ: want, would like, expect, need

• My parents want me to study medicine.

  พ่อแม่อยากให้ฉันเรียนแพทย์

• I'd like you to meet my cousin, Hoa.

  ฉันอยากให้คุณรู้จักฮวา ลูกพี่ลูกน้องของฉัน

• The coach expects us to train every morning.

  โค้ชคาดหวังให้เราซ้อมทุกเช้า

2. ขอ บอก เตือนความจำ เชิญ: ask, tell, remind, beg, invite, help

• Can you remind me to buy some eggs?

  ช่วยเตือนให้ฉันซื้อไข่หน่อยได้ไหม

• The teacher told us not to use dictionaries.

  ครูบอกพวกเราว่าห้ามใช้พจนานุกรม

• Minh invited me to join his band.

  มินห์ชวนฉันเข้าวงดนตรีของเขา

3. แนะนำ เกลี้ยกล่อม สนับสนุน เตือน: advise, encourage, persuade, convince, warn, urge

• The doctor advised me to get more sleep.

  หมอแนะนำให้ฉันนอนให้มากขึ้น

• My friends persuaded me to try karaoke.

  เพื่อน ๆ เกลี้ยกล่อมให้ฉันลองร้องคาราโอเกะ

• They warned us not to swim after dark.

  พวกเขาเตือนเราว่าอย่าว่ายน้ำตอนมืด

4. อนุญาต บังคับ ทำให้ทำได้ สอน: allow, permit, force, enable, teach, get (= เกลี้ยกล่อม, ภาษาพูด)

• The rain forced us to stay indoors.

  ฝนทำให้เราต้องอยู่แต่ในบ้าน

• This app allows you to track your spending.

  แอปนี้ช่วยให้คุณติดตามค่าใช้จ่ายได้

• My grandpa taught me to fish.

  คุณตาสอนฉันตกปลา

• I finally got my brother to clean his room.

  ในที่สุดฉันก็ทำให้น้องชายยอมทำความสะอาดห้องได้

กริยาบางตัวที่ความหมายคล้ายกันไม่ตามด้วย คน + to + กริยา ต้องใช้โครงสร้างอื่น make และ let ตามด้วย คน + กริยารูปเดิม ไม่มี to — ดูบทเรียน “‘Make / let’ ให้ใครทำ”

หลัง advise, allow, permit, encourage: ถ้ามีคนตามหลังกริยา → to + กริยา ถ้าไม่มีคน → -ing ส่วน recommend ที่ปลอดภัยที่สุดคือ -ing หรืออนุประโยค that: I recommend booking early / I recommend (that) you book early

• I'd advise you to bring a raincoat. / I'd advise bringing a raincoat.

  ฉันขอแนะนำให้คุณเอาเสื้อกันฝนไปด้วย / ขอแนะนำให้เอาเสื้อกันฝนไปด้วย

• They don't allow people to park here. / They don't allow parking here.

  ที่นี่ไม่อนุญาตให้คนจอดรถ / ที่นี่ห้ามจอดรถ

Passive ใช้บ่อยมาก: be allowed to, be asked to, be told to, be advised to, be expected to

• You're not allowed to bring food into the cinema.

  ไม่อนุญาตให้นำอาหารเข้าโรงภาพยนตร์

• Passengers are asked to keep their bags with them.

  ขอให้ผู้โดยสารเก็บกระเป๋าไว้กับตัว

💡เราใช้โครงสร้างนี้เล่าคำขอร้องและคำสั่งด้วย: “Please sit down,” she said. → She asked me to sit down. “Don't be late!” → He told us not to be late. ดูบทเรียน “ประโยคเล่าความ (reported speech)” ด้วย

  want ไม่ตามด้วยอนุประโยค that

• ✗She told me don't worry.

  ✓She told me not to worry.

  รูปปฏิเสธคือ not to + กริยา

• ✗He said me to wait outside.

  ✓He told me to wait outside.

  say ไม่ตามด้วย คน + to ให้ใช้ tell

• ✗The doctor suggested me to rest.

  ✓The doctor advised me to rest. / The doctor suggested (that) I rest.

  suggest ไม่ตามด้วย คน + to

• ✗They don't allow to smoke here.

  ✓They don't allow smoking here. / They don't allow people to smoke here.

  allow ต้องตามด้วย คน + to + กริยา หรือ -ing
