提建议

英语有好几种句型可以用来建议做什么。关键是记住每种句型后面接什么形式的动词。

💡How about / What about 以介词 about 结尾，所以后面的动词要用 -ing：How about going…?（不说 How about go…?）。其他句型都接动词原形，不加 to。

1. 建议一起做某事——Let's…、Shall we…?、Why don't we…?、How about…?

• It's so hot. Let's go for a swim.

  太热了。我们去游泳吧。

• Shall we take a break? I'm exhausted.

  我们休息一下好吗？我累坏了。

• Why don't we cook at home tonight?

  今晚我们为什么不在家做饭呢？

2. 建议别人可以做什么——Why don't you…?、Why not…?、You could…

• You look tired. Why don't you lie down for a bit?

  你看起来很累。为什么不躺一会儿呢？

• If the shirt is too big, why not change it?

  如果衬衫太大，为什么不去换一件呢？

• You could ask your teacher for help.

  你可以请老师帮帮你。

3. 征求建议——What / Where / When shall we…?

• What shall we do this weekend?

  这个周末我们做什么呢？

• Where shall we meet? — How about the café near the station?

  我们在哪儿见面？——车站附近那家咖啡馆怎么样？

4. 提出一个选项——How about / What about + 名词或代词

• I can't do Friday. What about Sunday?

  星期五我不行。星期天怎么样？

• I'd like a pizza. How about you?

  我想吃比萨。你呢？

💡Why don't you…? 可能是真正的提问，也可能是建议——要靠语境和语调来判断。“Why don't you eat meat?” 可能是在问原因。“Why don't you take a break?” 是建议，听话人不需要解释什么。

这些句型的意思差不多，但有的比别的更直接：

• Let's go, shall we?

  我们走吧，好吗？（Let's 后面的反意疑问是 shall we）

• Maybe we could leave a bit earlier to avoid the traffic.

  也许我们可以早点出发，避开堵车。

• Shall we get a taxi? — Yes, let's. It's getting late.

  我们打车好吗？——好啊。天快黑了。

• Let's watch a horror film. — Hmm, I'd rather not. How about a comedy instead?

  我们看恐怖片吧。——嗯，我还是不看了。换成喜剧怎么样？

💡对别人的建议只说 “No.” 显得很生硬。加上一个简短的理由或别的主意（Maybe another time — I'm busy tonight.），听起来自然、礼貌得多。

转述别人的建议，或者更正式地提出建议时，用动词 suggest。它后面接 -ing 或 (that) + 从句——不能用 suggest + 人 + to 不定式。

• Minh suggested going to the night market.

  阿明建议去逛夜市。

• I suggest we leave before the rain starts.

  我建议我们在下雨之前出发。

• The doctor suggested that I drink more water.

  医生建议我多喝水。（不说：suggested me to drink）

• ✗How about go to the cinema?

  ✓How about going to the cinema?

  about 后面用 -ing。

• ✗Why don't we going to the night market?

  ✓Why don't we go to the night market?

  Why don't we + 动词原形。

• ✗Shall we to start now?

  ✓Shall we start now?

  shall 后面不加 to。

• ✗Let's to eat out tonight.

  ✓Let's eat out tonight.

  Let's + 动词原形，不加 to。

• ✗Why not to take a taxi?

  ✓Why not take a taxi?

  Why not + 动词原形，不加 to。

• ✗She suggested me to call the hotel.

  ✓She suggested (that) I call the hotel.

  suggest 后面不能接 人 + to 不定式。
