myself, yourself, themselves, by myself, each other — वही व्यक्ति जो कर्ता है
1.रूप
निजवाचक सर्वनाम (reflexive pronouns) -self (एकवचन) या -selves (बहुवचन) पर खत्म होते हैं। you के दो रूप हैं: एक व्यक्ति के लिए yourself और एक से ज़्यादा के लिए yourselves।

hisself, theirselves और ourself मानक English नहीं हैं। ध्यान दें: myself, yourself, herself, ourselves my / your / her / our से बने हैं, लेकिन himself और themselves him / them से बने हैं।
2.इनका प्रयोग कब करें
1. कर्ता और कर्म एक ही व्यक्ति हों
I cut myself while I was cooking.
खाना बनाते समय मेरा हाथ कट गया।
Lan looked at herself in the mirror.
लान ने आईने में खुद को देखा।
Minh blamed himself for the accident.
मिन्ह ने हादसे के लिए खुद को दोषी ठहराया। (मिन्ह ने मिन्ह को दोषी ठहराया)
Minh blamed him for the accident.
मिन्ह ने हादसे के लिए उसे दोषी ठहराया। (him = कोई दूसरा व्यक्ति)
2. कुछ आम वाक्यांश: enjoy yourself (अच्छा समय बिताना), help yourself (जो चाहिए खुद ले लेना), make yourself at home (आराम से रहना, जैसे अपना ही घर हो), introduce yourself (अपना परिचय देना), behave yourself (ठीक से पेश आना)
We really enjoyed ourselves in Da Lat.
दा लाट में हमें सच में बहुत मज़ा आया।
Please help yourselves to some fruit.
कृपया फल खुद लेकर खाइए।
Let me introduce myself. I'm Hoa.

3. “वही व्यक्ति, कोई और नहीं” पर ज़ोर देने के लिए — आमतौर पर वाक्य के आखिर में या उस व्यक्ति के ठीक बाद
Did you make this cake yourself?
क्या यह केक आपने खुद बनाया?
The manager herself came to say sorry.
मैनेजर खुद माफ़ी माँगने आईं।
3.By myself, on my own
by myself / by yourself… और on my own / on your own… का मतलब है अकेले या बिना किसी मदद के। दोनों का मतलब एक ही है।
My grandpa lives by himself in the countryside.
मेरे दादाजी गाँव में अकेले रहते हैं।
Can you finish your homework by yourself?
क्या तुम अपना होमवर्क खुद पूरा कर सकते हो?
I like travelling on my own.
मुझे अकेले घूमना पसंद है।
हिंदी में हम “खुद” लगाकर कहते हैं कि काम बिना मदद के किया; English में यह काम -self करता है: खुद सीखना = teach yourself, खुद ठीक करना = fix it yourself। by के बाद -self वाला रूप आता है: by myself (by me नहीं)।
4.Themselves या each other?
themselves / ourselves = हर व्यक्ति काम अपने आप पर करता है। each other = हर व्यक्ति काम दूसरे व्यक्ति पर करता है (एक-दूसरे)।
Lan and Mai looked at themselves in the mirror.
लान और माई ने आईने में खुद को देखा। (हर एक ने खुद को देखा)
Lan and Mai looked at each other.
लान और माई ने एक-दूसरे को देखा। (लान ने माई को देखा, माई ने लान को)
My parents love each other very much.
मेरे माता-पिता एक-दूसरे से बहुत प्यार करते हैं।
5.निजवाचक सर्वनाम कब न लगाएँ
- feel, relax, concentrate, meet के बाद आमतौर पर -self नहीं आता: I feel great (I feel myself great नहीं)।
- wash, shave, dress जैसी रोज़ की दिनचर्या में -self आमतौर पर छोड़ दिया जाता है: I got dressed and left। इसे सिर्फ़ तब लगाएँ जब मेहनत पर ज़ोर देना हो (My little son can dress himself now)।
- जगह बताने वाले preposition के बाद सामान्य कर्म वाला रूप आता है: She put her bag next to her (next to herself नहीं)।
Sit down and relax.
बैठिए और आराम कीजिए। (relax yourself नहीं)
Let's meet outside the cinema at seven.
चलो सात बजे सिनेमा के बाहर मिलते हैं। (meet ourselves नहीं)
6.आम गलतियाँ
He fixed the bike by hisself.He fixed the bike by himself.
hisself मानक English नहीं है।
They enjoyed theirselves.They enjoyed themselves.
सही रूप themselves है।
Did you enjoy at the party?Did you enjoy yourself at the party?
enjoy के बाद कर्म चाहिए: enjoy yourself / enjoy the party।
I feel myself tired.I feel tired.
feel के बाद myself न लगाएँ।
Nam and Lan love themselves.Nam and Lan love each other.
दूसरे व्यक्ति से प्यार करना → each other।
Help yourselfs to some cake.Help yourselves to some cake.
बहुवचन: -self → -selves।
