Requests, offers and permission
Could you…? Would you mind…? Can I…? Would you like…?
Can / Could / Will / Would you + verb? · Would you mind + -ing? | Could you help me with this? |
Can / Could / May I have + noun? | Could I have the menu, please? |
Can / Could / May I + verb? · Do you mind if I + present simple? | Can I use your charger? |
Shall I / Can I + verb? · Would you like me to + verb? | Shall I carry that for you? |
Would you like + noun / to-verb? | Would you like to come for dinner? |
“Open the door.”
Can you…? Could you…? Would you mind + -ing?
Can you turn the TV down a bit?
Could you say that again, please?
Would you mind waiting a few minutes?
इसलिए Would you mind…? No, not at all. / Of course not.
Can I have…? / Could I have…? (कैफ़े और दुकानों में, ख़ासकर अमेरिका में, Can I get…? Can I / Could I / May I + verb? — May I सबसे औपचारिक है। Do you mind if I…?
Could I have the bill, please?
Can I borrow your umbrella? I'll bring it back tomorrow.
May I come in?
Do you mind if I open the window?
Of course. / Go ahead.; नरमी से मना करना — Sorry, I'm using it right now. Could I…? का जवाब Yes, of course या Yes, you can से दें — Yes, you could से नहीं।
Shall I…? (British), Can I…?, Would you like me to…?, या बस I'll…। Would you like + noun / to-verb?
You look lost. Can I help you?
Would you like me to drive you home?
Would you like a slice of cake?
Would you like to come to Hoi An with us next month?
ध्यान दें: Would you like…? एक पेशकश है; Do you like…?
Do you like green tea? — Yes, I drink it every morning.
Would you like some green tea? — Yes, please.
(Shall we…? Why don't we…?)
