Futuro con “going to”
PrincipianteFuture with “going to”
Forma e uso
be going to + verbo — un piano o qualcosa che si vede arrivare
1.Forma
am / is / are + going to + forma base.
| Soggetto | Affermativa | Negativa | Domanda |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | I'm going to stay | I'm not going to stay | Am I going to stay? |
| he / she / it | she's going to stay | she isn't going to stay | Is she going to stay? |
| we / you / they | they're going to stay | they aren't going to stay | Are they going to stay? |
Domande con wh-: What are you going to cook? Who is going to drive? Risposte brevi: Yes, I am. / No, she isn't. I'm going to go… è perfettamente corretto, anche se suona ripetitivo.
Due errori frequenti: dimenticare be (I going to…) e dimenticare to o cambiare il verbo che segue (going to moving). Nel parlato veloce going to spesso suona come gonna: scrivi gonna solo nei messaggi informali.
2.Quando si usa
I'm going to learn to swim this summer.
Quest'estate imparo a nuotare.
Why are you buying paint? — I'm going to paint my bedroom.
Perché compri della vernice? — Voglio ridipingere la mia camera.
We're not going to buy a car this year. It's too expensive.
Quest'anno non compriamo la macchina. Costa troppo.
2. Previsioni basate su quello che vedi adesso
Look at the sky over the river. It's going to rain.
Guarda il cielo sopra il fiume. Sta per piovere.
Careful! You're going to spill your coffee.
Attento! Stai per rovesciare il caffè.
It's 8:55 and class starts at nine. We're going to be late.
Arriveremo in ritardo.
3. Intenzioni nel passato: was / were going to, di solito per qualcosa che alla fine non è successo (vedi la lezione “Was going to”)
I was going to call you last night, but my phone died.
3.Going to o will?
| be going to | will | |
|---|---|---|
| Decisione | presa prima di parlare | presa mentre parli |
| Esempio | I'm going to buy a new phone. I've saved enough. | Oh, this one's on sale! I'll take it. |
| Esempio | Look at that queue! We're going to wait for ages. | I think the new café will do well. |
Confronta la stessa situazione:
We're out of milk. — I know. I'm going to get some after work.
Il latte è finito. — Lo so. Lo compro dopo il lavoro. (deciso prima)
We're out of milk. — Oh, are we? I'll get some.
Il latte è finito. — Ah, davvero? Lo prendo io. (deciso adesso)
I think it'll be hot tomorrow = I think it's going to be hot tomorrow.
Sì → going to. Lo sto decidendo adesso → will.
4.Errori comuni
I going to call you tomorrow.I'm going to call you tomorrow.
Manca be.
They are going to moving to Da Lat.They are going to move to Da Lat.
